Job Purpose:
 

This position is a pivotal role focused on establishing and expanding the company’s product distribution in designated financial services new markets. This individual will be responsible for the development and execution of business development strategies within the specific market, including understanding market dynamics, identifying opportunities, and driving the growth of the company’s products.  This role will be responsible for acquiring and managing strategic partnerships with very large organizations. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Identify, pursue, and acquire large new business strategic partnerships within the assigned market.
  • Develop and implement a market specific business development strategy in alignment with the overall new market strategy.
  • Lead a cross functional team to ensure successful entry and scale of our solutions in the assigned new market.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned market.
  • Own relationships with key partners and stakeholders.
  • Lead and manage the business development team within the assigned market.
  • Collaborate with market research teams to provide analysis to inform strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, and product teams to understand current issues and tailor strategies for the market.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs.
  • Maintain relevant market leadership roles and be an active subject matter expert speaker and participant at significant market events and conferences.
  • Report on strategy, market performance, challenges, and opportunities to your VP.
  • Deliver market share and revenue targets.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Master of Business Administration is preferred.
  • Ten (10) or more years of experience in business development or new market expansion roles.
  • Life & Health Insurance License and Property & Casualty License (both resident and non-resident) required within 90 days of employment.
  • Proven track record of co-developing, marketing, and acquiring partners in new or emerging markets.
  • Experience in leading and managing business development teams.
  • Ability to stay adaptable and resilient while working in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
  • Demonstrated success in building strategic partnerships and alliances.
  • Strategic planning and execution skills as well as excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong leadership, team management, relationship building and stakeholder management.
  • Experience with market analysis, problem solving and decision making.
  • Financial acumen and budget management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead with enterprise vision and energize and inspire a diverse cross functional team.
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time or more.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience successfully bringing a product to a new B2B partner market, which drove significant growth for the organization
  • Multiple years’ experience in business development for new B2B partner markets preferred over other business development
  • Expertise developing an end-to-end distribution and market growth strategy for a new B2B market and new product.   Articulating that vision at the board and C suite level.
  • Expansive network with large banks, credit card companies, FinTech’s, and mortgage lenders.

Compensation may vary based on the job level, your geographic work location, position incentive plan and exemption status.

 

Base Salary Range:

$165,000.00 - $275,000.00
