Director, Global B2B Media

Blackbaud's software and data power the people and organizations changing the world, from local food banks to Fortune 500 CSR programs. As Director, Global B2B Media, you will lead paid media strategy across a complex, multi-product SaaS portfolio, driving both brand growth and pipeline performance. This role requires a rare blend of strategic vision, measurement rigor, and operational excellence. You'll leverage modern media practices, experimentation, and advanced analytics to optimize investment decisions and drive business outcomes.

If you thrive on translating data into action, building high-performing teams, and shaping how a market-leading technology company reaches and influences its audiences, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact at scale.

What you’ll do:

  • Own the full funnel paid media approach—activating brand and demand  campaigns across upper and lower funnel channels to support long-term brand equity and near-term growth targets.

  • Lead a high-performing team of channel experts (search, paid social, programmatic, video/CTV—connected TV, emerging platforms), fostering a culture of curiosity, speed and accountability.

  • Partner with Demand, Brand and Creative teams to activate unconventional, attention-grabbing ideas through paid media—hyperlocal activations, and immersive moments via targeted channels that maximize reach and impact.

  • Own media investment strategy, including forecasting, budget modeling, attribution, reporting and analysis, and a test-and-learn roadmap (incrementality, holdouts, MMM, MTA) that optimizes CAC, NRR, and overall business performance.

  • Strengthen brand affinity by identifying high impact paid placements, partnerships, and media environments for brand campaigns so our audiences think effortlessly and positively about Blackbaud.

  • Scale global media programs across multiple regions, languages, and regulatory environments, partnering with both agency and in-house teams.

  • Report what matters, delivering concise, outcome-oriented media narratives and investment recommendations to senior leadership and marketing stakeholders.

  • Serve as a strategic media partner to Brand, Demand, Product Marketing, Creative, and Analytics teams, translating campaign strategies into channel plans, audience targeting, investment decisions, and shared business outcomes.

What you’ll bring:

  • 10+ years leading media strategy for complex, multi-product B2B SaaS, software, or technology organizations.

  • Experience owning both brand paid media and demand-generation paid media programs across multiple products, buyer personas, and customer lifecycle stages.

  • A proven track record building and leading high-impact media teams, including internal talent and agency partners.

  • Deep expertise across paid media, including SEM, paid social, display/programmatic, video/CTV, and emerging channels such as audio, retail media, and ABM platforms.

  • Strong knowledge modern search and discovery, including SEO and AEO, with a practical understanding of how brands surface across LLM-driven experiences and AI-powered search.

  • A portfolio of inventive campaigns that delivered measurable business impact—including surprise-and-delight physical-world experiences and micro-targeted digital/physical hybrids.

  • Advanced financial, measurement, and planning acumen, including forecasting, scenario modeling, LTV/CAC, payback, incrementality testing, MMM, and advanced measurement frameworks used to optimize media investments and business outcomes.

  • Executive presence and communication skills, with the ability to present media strategy, investment recommendations, and performance insights to senior leadership.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
