Sony Pictures Entertainment's (SPE) Corporate Development team is responsible for the company's Mergers & Acquisitions and Integration Management portfolio. The Integration Management Office (IMO) within Corporate Development is responsible for developing SPE's integration vision, strategy, and the successful integration of our acquired subsidiaries, as well as leading divestitures, carve-outs, and high-priority strategic programs sponsored by SPE leadership.

The team partners closely with SPE leadership, functional leaders, and stakeholders worldwide to plan and execute using established frameworks. We lead M&A integrations, separations, and divestitures from sign to close through post-close, and partner with executive sponsors on strategic programs to define scope, build the plan, and deliver the outcome, ensuring governance, change management, and cross-functional transparency across workstreams throughout. This is a fast-paced, high-performing group of individuals who are energized by strategic thinking, collaboration, and delivering results in a dynamic environment, working with all levels of the organization across functional teams and business units globally.

Reporting to the VP, M&A Integration & Special Projects, the Senior Manager/Director will lead workstreams and strategic programs across the team's portfolio; owning integration and separation planning, governance and reporting, executive communications, and the day-to-day cross-functional execution to deliver the outcome. Typical assignments include leading the integration of an acquired asset, structuring a divestiture or separation, or owning a confidential strategic program.

Core Responsibilities

The Senior Manager/Director will lead complex, cross-functional M&A integration, separation, and strategic program work across SPE, with regular exposure to senior leadership. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Lead integration, separation, and other strategic programs, including integration planning, Day 1 readiness, cutover planning, first 100 days execution, separation planning, and TSAs.
  • Build and run program governance including milestone tracking, RAID logs, dependency management, synergy tracking, and status reporting using Smartsheet and other tools as the program requires.
  • Partner directly with functional leaders across the organization, including but not limited to People, Legal, Finance, IT, InfoSec, Real Estate, and the businesses, to align on integration or separation strategy, surface risks early, and broker decisions when required.
  • Partner within Corporate Development on integration diligence for transactions, including assessing integration complexity and risk, shaping the integration strategy, validating synergy and value-capture assumptions, and developing Day 1 readiness plans.
  • Coordinate workstreams and stakeholders across multiple time zones and geographies, including SPE teams and counterparts in Europe and Asia.
  • Develop executive-ready materials including steering committee decks, status reports, and dashboards.
  • Translate high-level executive direction into structured workstreams, deliverables, and timelines on programs where the path is not yet defined.
  • Continuously improve SPE's integration and separation framework, including playbooks, templates, dashboards, and KPIs to drive consistency, accountability, and speed across the portfolio.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of professional experience, with a substantial portion in top-tier management consulting specializing in M&A integration, divestitures, business transformation, or large-scale program delivery.
  • Track record of leading cross-functional programs or workstreams in fast-paced environments, including direct experience across the M&A lifecycle from integration diligence through planning, Day 1, cutover, and post-close.
  • Experience operating within or alongside large, matrixed, multinational organizations, with the judgment to navigate competing priorities, multiple reporting lines, and complex stakeholder dynamics.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across time zones and geographies, with cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams and senior executives.
  • Strong functional fluency across Finance & Accounting, HR / organizational design, IT, Legal, and Real Estate; the ability to engage productively and partner with workstream leads.
  • Proven ability to seamlessly transition from structured program management to strategic, ambiguous problem-solving
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication, with the ability to build rapport and trust at all levels of the organization.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated, with a strategic mindset and attention to detail.
  • High degree of intellectual curiosity with a continuous learning and growth mindset, and eagerness for problem solving.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint with the ability to develop compelling business presentations and present complex data and issues in a clear manner that drives decision making and outcomes. Experience with Smartsheet a plus.
  • B.A./B.S. required (or equivalent experience); MBA or equivalent advanced degree a plus.
  • Experience with M&A integration, divestiture, carve-outs, or transformation programs in media, entertainment, or adjacent industries preferred

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
