Summary
The Director of Human Resources is a strategic leader responsible for shaping and executing the company’s people strategy in alignment with business goals. This role oversees all HR functions including talent acquisition, employee engagement, organizational development, compensation and benefits, compliance, and employee relations. The Director partners closely with executive leadership to foster a high-performance culture, lead change initiatives, and ensure legal compliance across all HR functions. This position leads the HR team, providing coaching, development, and operational direction to drive excellence and continuous improvement.
Core Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership across all HR functions, including workforce planning, talent acquisition, employee engagement, performance management, and compliance
- Lead and mentor the HR team to deliver best-in-class service aligned with business objectives
- Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and programs that support a diverse, inclusive, and compliant workplace culture
- Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on organizational design, succession planning, and change management initiatives
- Oversee compensation and benefits programs, including competitive analysis, budgeting, and vendor management
- Manage payroll operations in compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements
- Lead enterprise-wide HR initiatives such as performance management, talent reviews, development planning, and workforce analytics
- Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations, including mandated reporting (e.g., EEO-1, CA legal reporting, 5500, 401(k) testing)
- Oversee the design and delivery of onboarding, training, and leadership development programs
- Provide guidance on complex employee relations matters and support fair and consistent resolution in partnership with leadership
- Drive KPI tracking and reporting across key HR metrics including headcount, turnover, engagement, and strategic initiatives
- Represent the company in audits, external reporting, and corporate compliance reviews
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and Safran corporate to align HR strategy, benefits administration, and quarterly/year-end reporting
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience
- 7+ years in a leadership role managing HR teams
- Proven experience developing and implementing strategic HR initiatives in a fast-paced, multi-functional environment
- Deep knowledge of U.S. federal and California labor laws, compliance regulations, and industry best practices
- Demonstrated success in building high-performing teams and influencing at all levels of the organization
- Strong business acumen and the ability to translate organizational goals into effective HR strategies
- Experience managing HR systems, payroll, and reporting tools; strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills with a high degree of professionalism and discretion
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or Business
- HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR)
Benefits
The starting pay range for this position is $150,000 - 170,000 per year however, the base pay offered may vary depending on the level of the position, skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and location.
