What you bring to SBHG (qualifications):

  • Active California licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Marriage, Family Therapist (LMFT)

  • Masters degree in social work, Psychology, or Marriage, Family, Child Counseling from an accredited college or university.

Professional Experience:

  • Supervisory: Minimum of Two (2) years supervisory experience in a health care setting (experience directing a Day Treatment Intensive program highly preferred).
  • Clinical: Minimum of Two (2) years direct service experience with mental health challenges (specialized experience with adolescents, group therapy, and group activities is preferred).

How you will make a difference (job overview):

Director of Group Services plans, develops, coordinates and supervises the Day Treatment Intensive (“DTI”) Program which meets the needs and interests of each client in the facility/program. Participates in budget development and billing for the department/program and is responsible for its implementation and management.  Organize and supervise client community meetings, safety of DTI groups for clients as needed and services including assessments, treatment planning and direct treatment services. Supervise the quality of the DTI groups/activities performed by Rehab Specialists, Therapists and Aides. Organize staffing and recruitment of the DTI Program to meet regulatory requirements. Directly monitor the program by routinely supporting evening and weekend shifts. Monitor the quality of staff documentation to meet regulatory requirements. Coordinates community DTI contacts for outings and services to be brought into the facility. The Director of Group Services serves as the Head of Service for the Day Treatment Intensive Program.

Division & Program Overview:

  • Population Served: A comprehensive mental health in patient residential facility for adolescents; Statewide service for up to 60 adolescents (ages 12–17) experiencing severe mental health challenges.
  • Facility & Setting: 24/7 locked, highly secure inpatient residential campus operating with the highest standards of dignity and care since 1988.
  • Programs: Psychiatric Health Facility (PHF), Community Treatment Facility (CTF), and an on-site Non-Public High School (SBHS).
  • Clinical Services: Multidisciplinary mental health services, Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS), and Intensive Day Treatment Program.
