Job Summary:

The Director of Engineering Project Management is responsible for leading the strategic planning and execution of hardware developments and key software releases for the RAVE Product. This role oversees the team of individual contributor project managers creating and maintaining engineering development plans, ensuring that the projects are successful and meet commitments to the stakeholders, and managing the release of stable software to key customers and/or partners. The Director will act as a key liaison between the Engineering Project Management organization and internal stakeholders - including product line, sales, program management, and executives. This role ensures that the Engineering organization has clear, effective planning processes which are adhered to in a consistent manner. The Director's focus is on driving operational efficiency, process adherence, fostering collaboration, and ensuring that approved projects and third-party engagements are executed on time.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Drive planning and resource management for hardware delivery, ensuring on-time execution across internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Lead improvement strategies and organizational initiatives including establishing a means for an integrated master schedule of development efforts.
  • Oversee capacity planning and resource allocation, aligning Engineering activities with customer, OEM, and software feature-driven timelines.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to assess future Engineering capacity and resource needs.
  • Facilitate cross-functional workshops to resolve scheduling conflicts and align priorities, ensuring consensus on key dates and deliverables.
  • Drive the creation and execution of recovery plans for projects not meeting expectations.
  • Proactively communicate with senior stakeholders to manage date changes and gain consensus on updated timelines and priorities.
  • Set clear expectations for deliverables, milestones, and quality metrics.
  • Develop and oversee performance metrics for both internal engineering teams and external suppliers.
  • Implement corrective action plans for resources when execution does not support expectations.
  • Lead and coordinate both local and remote teams, fostering collaboration and alignment to ensure successful delivery of necessary hardware and software.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a related field
  • 8-12+ years of experience working in a similar role
  • 6+ years of experience in a management / leadership capacity
  • 3-5 years of experience establishing, maintaining and fully owning department budget
  • Project Management or Program Management certifications, preferred by not necessary
  • Experience with management of third parties
  • Experience with scheduling and configuration control tools (MS Project, JIRA, PLM)
  • Deep understanding of hardware and software phases development processes within an AS9100 environment

Benefits

The starting pay range for this position is $137,300 - $164,800 per year however, base pay offered may vary depending on the level of the position, skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and location.
