About Hi-Altitude Brands

Hi-Altitude Brands, through our flagship brand, Stonehenge Health, is a fast-growing direct-to-consumer supplement company on a mission to help people live healthier, more vibrant lives. We develop premium, science-backed formulations featuring clinically studied branded ingredients that set us apart from competitors. Our products are sold through our website, Amazon, and Walmart, reaching hundreds of thousands of customers nationwide.

We are a fully remote team that values autonomy, ownership, and results. We move fast, test constantly, and hold ourselves to high standards. If you thrive in environments where your work has a direct, measurable impact, you will fit right in.

Position Overview

We're looking for an exceptional Director of Ecommerce & Subscription to join the Hi-Altitude team. In this capacity, you will own the on-site customer journey end-to-end. You will own both the strategy and execution of our CRO testing roadmap to improve conversion rate, AOV and RPV as well as our Subscription program improving subscription adoption and reducing subscription churn.

You are data-obsessed, understand how to turn numbers into actionable insights, and know how to design and read tests without bias.

This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Chief Retention Officer. Leveling may range from Associate Director to Director, depending on the candidate’s experience and expertise. As the function matures, the scope and structure of the role are expected to evolve, with potential to grow into team leadership.

Responsibilities

Own the CRO & Testing Roadmap:

  • Design, prioritize, and execute an unbiased testing program across the site — front-end pages, landing pages, product pages, and blog content — to improve conversion rate and AOV, and know how to read the resulting data and translate it into action.

Own Subscription Retention, Churn, and LTV:

  • In ReCharge, test save tactics such as educational content and value-adds; apply strong dunning management to reduce involuntary churn; and use psychological and behavioral principles to extend billing cycles and grow subscriber lifetime value
  • Work closely with our Lifecycle Marketing Manager to develop personalized communications to subscribers as well as remove subscribers from communications when relevant.

Own Pricing Strategy:

  • Design and lead pricing tests to optimize margin and conversion, with final authority on test design and rollout.

Own the AfterSell relationship

  • Manage our upsell/cross-sell testing roadmap and execution to substantially increase upsell take-rates.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of competing vendors in the space to determine whether to evolve or switch tools.

Partner Cross-Functionally:

  • Support product launches and site-wide sales initiatives alongside marketing, creative, and operations.
  • Partner closely with our Acquisition department to manage all landing page tests optimized to lower CAC and raise new customer ROAS.

Own Site QA:

  • Proactively identify issues that need fixing and opportunities for improvement, and drive them to resolution.

Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in ecommerce, subscription/retention, CRO, or growth marketing, within DTC subscription-based consumer brands.
  • Hands-on experience with Shopify Plus, ReCharge, Testing tools (Convert, Optimizely, VWO)  and upsell/cross sell tools
  • A track record of designing, running, and interpreting statistically sound CRO and upsell  tests — you know how to avoid biased test design and can defend your read of the data.
  • Working knowledge of dunning management tactics for involuntary churn reduction.
  • A strong point of view on pricing strategy and margin optimization, backed by test-driven reasoning.
  • Familiarity with the broader ecommerce/subscription tooling landscape (upsell, retention, and CRO platforms) and the judgment to evaluate build-vs-buy or vendor-switch decisions.
  • Comfort owning ambiguous, cross-functional work in a fast-moving, autonomous and fully remote environment.
Why Join Us
  • A fully remote, autonomy-driven culture where your work has direct, measurable impact.
  • Ownership of a meaningful, high-visibility function from day one, with room to grow the role and potentially a team, as the business scales.
  • A fast-moving, test-and-learn environment backed by leadership that values data over opinion
Compensation

Competitive salary range of $125,000-165,000 per year, plus bonus eligibility

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
