We value people who are curious, accountable, collaborative, and empathetic. Our teams are small, nimble and have a strong drive to succeed. If you are seeking to build your career while working on a technical product that our F500 customers describe as “critical to operational success,”, you’ll feel at home here.
The Role:
As our Director of Demand Gen, you own the marketing strategy, execution and results for the STARLIMS portfolio of companies. This is a high-accountability, high-ownership role for a marketer who thrives on building and running the full demand engine across a portfolio of B2B SaaS products. You have full control over pipeline generation, and will set the tone for growth each month, quarter and year. You will report directly to the Global VP of Sales & Marketing and collaborate closely with our Sr. Director of Product Marketing.

You will build strategy, deploy budget, and iterate relentlessly to drive qualified lead volume that fuels our sales pipeline. More specifically, you will own paid marketing, organic marketing, SEO, events, and lifecycle marketing—and be expected to build a team and infrastructure capable of delivering consistent, measurable pipeline contribution across STARLIMS, Labstep, and any businesses we acquire in the years ahead.

This is not a role for someone who waits for direction. We’re looking for a builder: someone who moves fast, forms hypotheses, tests rapidly, and scales what works.
  • Design, lead, and drive sophisticated demand generation strategies for multiple products across global regions, driving pipeline for both large enterprise customers and high-velocity small-businesses.
  • Implement repeatable, scalable playbooks that drive predictable new and expansion pipeline across regions and product lines.
  • Own the development, optimization and reporting across various demand gen funnels, ensuring clear definitions, SLAs, and handoffs with Sales.
  • Champion marketing operations excellence by partnering closely with the marketing operations, including lead scoring, routing, data hygiene, attribution, and marketing automation workflows.
  • Set and manage our marketing budget, ensuring we drive strong ROAS on our highest performing campaigns
  • Work closely with PMM to build and deliver ICP-centric messaging to our key target audiences
About You:
  • You are based in the US
  • You have 10+ years of B2B marketing experience, with at least 3 years leading performance marketing or demand gen teams
  • You have deep expertise across performance marketing, CRO, SEO, content, events, CRO and lifecycle marketing
  • You feel at home in the data, leading with numbers and anchoring decisions in analysis
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including experience interacting across GTM and executive teams
  • You’ve worked on small, fast-moving teams and are comfortable with a high rate of change
  • You are a self-starter with a strong bias for action -  you identify opportunities, build solutions and move quickly without being told what to do
  • You are a structured thinker, able to break down a business into discrete funnels, and identify areas of improvement or opportunity
  • Proficiency with CRM tools, including but not limited to Salesforce and Hubspot
  • Proficiency using AI tools to build, capture, and scale demand
  • 4-year Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
At STARLIMS we offer market competitive benefits such as:
  • Competitive health and Wellness (medical, dental, and vision)
  • Retirement plan with matching company contribution
  • Life Insurance and Disability/Income Protection
STARLIMS is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, creed, religion, color, national or ethnic origin, citizenship, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, genetic information, veteran status, age or disability status.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
