WHO ARE YOU?

Passionate and motivated. Driven, with an entrepreneurial spirit. Resourceful, innovative, forward thinking and committed. At Live Nation Entertainment, our people embrace these qualities, so if this sounds like you then please read on!

THE ROLE

Live Nation is hiring a Director, Corporate Research to build and lead a new function focused on enterprise-level research, market analysis, and insight generation. Level and scope of role may flex for exceptional talent. This role will sit within the Corporate Strategy team and deliver original research on fans, artists, pricing, and market trends, leveraging Live Nation’s proprietary data along with third-party sources and survey methodologies. This is not a centralized research team built to absorb division-led efforts, but rather a net-new capability meant to extend our strategic thinking and proactively generate insights that supports senior Corporate decision-making.

WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO

  • Establish and grow a small Corporate Research team by setting the vision, operationalizing research priorities, and embedding research into strategic decision-making
  • Launch and lead annual live entertainment survey, using externally credible methods, and generate insights combining survey results with internal transactional data and third-party market intelligence
  • Develop and manage a small portfolio of high-impact, repeatable research projects that inform our long-term strategy
  • Lead Corporate-sponsored research projects, partnering with divisional resources where appropriate without duplicating existing workstreams
  • Define and then regularly conduct a set of quantitative analyses on the concert market (e.g., market sizing, demand tracking, pricing dynamics, etc.)
  • Finalize internal artist fan profile product, evolving existing data into a strategic tool, and supporting custom artist-specific research
  • Serve as the company’s internal research “librarian”:
    – Track internal research across the enterprise and support knowledge sharing
    – Track external research and data sources
  • Present findings in a clear, concise, and executive-ready format
  • Support external thought leadership efforts

WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING

  • 7-10+ years of professional experience
  • Experience with primary research and survey methodology
  • Experience with market sizing, economic analysis, and macroeconomic data
  • Familiarity with a wide range of research techniques and comfort leading multi-method projects
  • Proficiency in Excel (proficiency in SQL and familiarity with Databricks are a plus)
  • Strong project management and team leadership skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to synthesize data into strategic insights
  • Candidate should have experience at a research organization or economic consultancy, or on an in-house market research or insights team
  • Experience as a management consultant (e.g., McKinsey, BCG, Bain) is a plus
  • Advanced degrees in economics, mathematics/statistics, or public policy are a plus

BENEFITS & PERKS

Our motto is ‘Taking Care of Our Own’ through 6 pillars of benefits:

  • HEALTH: Medical, vision, dental and mental health benefits for you and your family, with access to a health care concierge, and Flexible or Health Savings Accounts (FSA or HSA)
  • YOURSELF: Free concert tickets, generous paid time off including paid holidays, sick time, and personal days
  • WEALTH: 401(k) program with company match, stock reimbursement program
  • FAMILY: New parent programs including caregiver leave and baby bonuses, plus fertility, adoption, foster, or surrogacy support
  • CAREER: Career and skill development programs with School of Live, tuition reimbursement, and student loan repayment

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
