D/Cipher is seeking a strategic storyteller and communications leader who can transform complex AdTech and digital media concepts into compelling narratives that drive awareness, credibility, and business growth.
This role, Director, Content & Communications Strategy, sits at the intersection of content, communications, brand, and demand generation, shaping how D/Cipher is represented across the marketplace. You will lead executive thought leadership strategy, industry communications, award submissions, social strategy, and integrated marketing initiatives to strengthen brand presence and position the company as a category leader.
The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution, thrives in fast-paced environments, and has deep experience within the AdTech, digital media, or agency ecosystem. This role reports to the SVP, Marketing & Communications, D/Cipher.

About The D/Cipher Team:
D/Cipher is People Inc.’s in-house media intelligence platform and activation team, fueled by the rich user engagement data from the nation’s largest publisher. D/Cipher allows advertisers to reach active intenders, regardless of demographic profile—both on People Inc. 's owned-and-operated (O&O) sites and across a highly vetted collection of premium sites. The D/Cipher Team is focused on the expansion and execution of D/Cipher off-property.
The Marketing and Communications Team supports both the D/Cipher and People Inc. Sales Team needs for D/Cipher, including but not limited to: Branding, Market Positioning and Strategy, GPs, Sales and Product Materials, Client RFI/RFP Responses, Internal Messaging, Thought Leadership, PR (Sponsorships, Events, Awards, Press), Collateral, Team Events, Paid Media Opportunities, Promotion as well as Research Tools and Insights.
About the Position’s Contributions: Weight % Accountabilities, Actions, and Expected Measurable Results
35% Content, Brand & Market VisibilityOwn the development of high-impact content across channels, including thought leadership, executive communications, sales narratives, award submissions, email newsletter and brand messaging.
Lead social media strategy and execution, with a primary focus on LinkedIn and executive visibility.
Identify and secure opportunities to increase brand awareness through industry events, publications, partnerships, and awards programs.
Ensure consistency of messaging and storytelling across all external communications.
Lead communications initiatives across paid, earned, and owned channels to maximize reach, engagement, and business impact.
Partner closely with Product Marketing, Sales, Brand, and Creative teams to align messaging, support go-to-market efforts, and accelerate pipeline growth.
Help establish communication priorities, editorial calendars, and campaign alignment across the organization.
Measure and optimize performance using communications and marketing metrics.
Develop and execute an integrated communications and thought-leadership strategy to strengthen D/Cipher's market position and brand authority.
Translate complex products, technologies, and industry trends into clear, persuasive narratives for customers, partners, media, and industry audiences.
Partner with executive leadership to develop key messaging, POVs, bylines, speaking opportunities, and external visibility programs.
Lead public relations efforts and, where applicable, manage agency relationships.
The Role’s Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent relevant work experience).
Experience: 10+ years of marketing and communications experience, including at least 5 years within AdTech, digital media, marketing technology, or related industries.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, Certifications and Abilities:
Demonstrated exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills with the ability to influence and persuade diverse audiences.
Proven experience in content strategy, thought leadership, executive communications, PR, and award submissions.
Deep understanding of the AdTech, digital advertising, and media landscape.
Strong strategic mindset with the ability to connect communications initiatives to business objectives and growth outcomes.
Highly adaptable, collaborative, and comfortable operating in dynamic, evolving environments.
Demonstrated ownership mentality with a bias for action and execution.
Demonstrated success leading thought leadership, social media, public relations, and integrated communications programs.
Experience executing multi-channel campaigns across paid, earned, and owned media.
Strong analytical mindset with an understanding of performance measurement, attribution, and business impact.
Proven ability to simplify complex technical concepts and translate them into compelling market-facing narratives.

Pay Range
Salary: New York: $115,000.00 - $125,000.00 Remote: $110,000.00 - $120,000.00The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of People Inc's total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
