Summary: This position is responsible for owning and strategically positioning Grange’s Businessowners and Contractors & Tradesmen (BOP and CT) product lines to meet customer and agent needs, driving profitable growth, and delivering sustained competitive differentiation.  Based on relevant experience could be a Manager or Director level.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Profit and Loss Ownership: Own full product line profit and loss accountability; develop and execute business plans that optimize growth, profitability, and portfolio health across BOP and CT lines.
  • Analytical Expectation: Leverage data and analytical insights to identify trends, diagnose performance drivers, and drive data-informed product strategy and underwriting actions.
  • Leadership: Lead, motivate, and influence a cross-functional team to achieve business objectives, including direct reports and key partners across underwriting, sales, claims, IT, and marketing.
  • Strategy and Execution: Define and execute end-to-end product strategy, including product development, pricing, underwriting guidelines, portfolio management, and go-to-market execution. Drive disciplined portfolio management, including mix optimization, expense management (e.g., commissions), and catastrophe risk mitigation.
  • Distribution and Agency Influence: Partner with Sales & Marketing and underwriting to influence agency behavior, driving adoption of new technologies, products, and best practices in the distribution and servicing of Commercial Lines offerings.
  • Compliance: Ensure full regulatory compliance for BOP and CT products, leading rate, rule, and form filings in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Competitive Intelligence: Lead competitive intelligence efforts, translating market trends and competitor actions into actionable insights that inform product and pricing strategy.
  • Communication: Own product communication strategy, delivering clear, compelling messaging to internal stakeholders and agency partners to drive understanding, alignment, and adoption.

What You’ll Bring To The Company:

Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree and/or professional designation (e.g., CPCU) preferred.
Demonstrated experience with product management P&L accountability, preferably in Small Commercial or BOP segments.  Strong background in commercial underwriting and/or portfolio management highly desirable.
Proven ability to apply advanced analytical thinking to drive data-informed decisions and business outcomes.
Demonstrated success leading in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment with the ability to influence without direct authority.  Ability to develop and execute a clear product vision and strategy.
