The Director of Business Development scales Braiins’ commercial efforts to secure institutional bitcoin miners, energy partners and strategic platform customers. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role responsible for defining and executing the BD strategy, building high-impact commercial processes, closing large strategic deals, and growing total hashrate under management.

This person represents Braiins at industry events, partners tightly with the CCO, product, engineering, legal and finance to convert market feedback into differentiated commercial offerings, and directly manages the BD team to deliver predictable, repeatable revenue and pipeline growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (Business, Engineering, Finance, or related)

  • 5+ years of BD/sales/partnership experience, ideally in bitcoin mining, energy, hardware, cloud/infra, or enterprise SaaS

  • 2+ years of people-management experience with a track record of hiring, coaching, and scaling BD or sales teams

  • Proven ability to close complex, enterprise deals (six-figure to multi-million dollar deals)

  • Strong commercial & contract negotiation skills (pricing, SLAs, partner agreements)

  • Deep understanding of the bitcoin mining ecosystem (major players, machines, firmware, pools, hashrate economics) and energy markets (demand response, ISO’s, etc)

  • Experience owning CRM processes (FreshSales or Salesforce proficiency preferred)

  • Excellent executive presentation and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to travel frequently to mining sites, partners, and conferences (25-50% travel).

  • Strong written and verbal communication, time management, and ability to perform in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the CCO to set the BD strategy and annual targets for product and enterprise customer growth; translate strategy into quarterly plans and team goals.

  • Lead, hire, and develop a high-performing BD team

  • Own full sales cycle for strategic accounts with all Braiins products: prospecting, technical and commercial diligence, negotiation, contracting, and onboarding.

  • Build and maintain executive relationships with major miners, operators, hosting providers, energy counterparties, and strategic partners.

  • Partner with Product & Engineering to incorporate market feedback into product roadmaps and to ensure successful customer onboarding and ongoing product adoption.

  • Lead and assist with complex negotiations (long-term service contracts, reseller/channel agreements, JVs, and MOUs).

  • Monitor competitive landscape and market trends; identify new verticals, geographies, and other opportunities.

  • Identify and evaluate strategic partnership, JV, and M&A opportunities

  • Travel to client sites and industry events to represent Braiins publicly and gather competitive/customer intelligence.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
