About the location:

Overlooking the Venetian Lagoon and just steps from Piazza San Marco, Danieli, a Four Seasons Hotel, Venice is an iconic property offering elegant, spacious accommodations. The historic hotel showcases majestic Venetian architecture dating back to the 14th century. Guests can also enjoy spectacular views of Venice’s landmarks from the rooftop Restaurant Terrazza Danieli.

About The Role

The Director of Bars is responsible for leading, overseeing, and strategizing the beverage operations across all bars, lounges, and rooftop outlets within the property. This senior role ensures the delivery of an exceptional beverage experience that aligns with Four Seasons’ standards of service, quality, and innovation.

You will develop and implement beverage strategies, supervise daily bar operations, mentor bar managers and staff, curate innovative cocktail and spirit programs, and oversee the overall beverage culture within the hotel. Working closely with the Director of Food & Beverage, Restaurant Managers, and culinary teams, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of the beverage program while fostering a culture of excellence, creativity, and collaboration.

What You Will Do

  • Lead and supervise all bar operations across the hotel, including the Lobby Bar and Terrazza Danieli Rooftop Bar.
  • Collaborate on beverage menus, signature cocktails, and spirit programs with culinary and F&B teams.
  • Oversee inventory, purchasing, cost control, and vendor relations across all beverage outlets.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and service standards.
  • Develop, mentor, and coach bar managers and staff, fostering talent growth and team engagement.
  • Maintain strong relationships with guests, suppliers, and partners.

What You Bring

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role overseeing multiple bar operations or beverage programs in luxury hotels or resorts.
  • Strong knowledge of wines, spirits, mixology, and cocktail innovation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor teams, develop talent, and build a strong beverage culture.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage costs, inventory, and supplier relations effectively.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • A degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Beverage Management, or equivalent professional experience is preferred.
  • A genuine passion for service excellence, innovation, and creating memorable guest experiences.

Schedule & Location

  • Full-time position based at Hotel Danieli, Venice
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed
  • You must possess the legal right to work in Italy and have fluency in English and Italian.
