The Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated Digital/Technical Product Manager Lead- AI Ops. The AIOps Product Manager defines and drives the product strategy, roadmap, and prioritized use-case backlog for AIOps capabilities across Application and Infrastructure domains.

This individual-contributor role determines what gets built and why, leading use-case prioritization, AIOps platform and build-versus-buy decisions, and the definition of adoption and value metrics. The role applies technical knowledge of LLMs, model risk, AI governance, and autonomous operations to evaluate complex AI-specific tradeoffs and guide product decisions. Success is measured by a value-driven roadmap and measurement framework that enables effective engineering execution and demonstrates the business and operational impact of AIOps investments.

This position will be based in San Antonio; TX and offers a flexible working environment with an on-site requirement of 5 days per week. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

What you'll do:

  • Own and prioritize the AIOps use-case backlog across both domains, grounded in a documented business-value case for every item that makes the cut — and a documented reason for every item that doesn’t.
  • Write the value case for a proposed use case before engineering commits meaningful effort, including the adoption and success metrics it will be measured against.
  • Make build-versus-buy and platform-selection recommendations for AIOps-specific capability — which LLM or model family to standardize on, whether a vendor platform covers a need better than a custom build — in partnership with the Platform/MLOps Engineer and both Directors.
  • Own the ongoing decision of where specialized platform AI capability should sit organizationally — embedded in the owning platform team or centralized under AIOps — revisiting it as new capabilities and platforms emerge.
  • Gather and synthesize requirements from the AIOps capability’s actual consumers — Availability, SRE, ServiceNow, and other operations pillars — and report use-case-level adoption and value data up to the AVP.

What You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.
  • 5+ years of product management experience, including at least some of it on a technical, data, or AI/ML product, not purely business-facing one.
  • Demonstrated experience writing and defending a prioritized backlog grounded in business value, including killing items that didn’t pan out.
  • Working technical fluency in LLMs, ML model lifecycles, and their practical limitations, sufficient to evaluate an engineering team’s technical claims rather than simply accept them.
  • Experience making or materially informing build-versus-buy decisions for a technology capability, and experience defining and tracking adoption or value metrics for a product or capability.
  • Comfort operating in a regulated environment, including enough familiarity with model risk or compliance concepts to engage Risk and Audit as a credible partner, and comfort operating without formal authority over the engineers building what you prioritize.

What Sets You Apart:

  • Demonstrated experience owning the product strategy and lifecycle for AI- or ML-enabled capabilities, from early development through production deployment, adoption, and measurable value realization.
  • Experience making strategic capability and platform decisions, including evaluating build, buy, reuse, and integration options to optimize long-term business and technology outcomes.
  • Proven ability to make data-driven prioritization and investment decisions, including recommending the discontinuation or deprioritization of initiatives when business value, feasibility, risk, or strategic alignment does not support continued investment.
  • Experience designing and implementing value-measurement frameworks for emerging technology capabilities, including defining meaningful adoption, operational, and business-outcome metrics where traditional measures may not apply.
  • Demonstrated experience representing technical products with executive-level stakeholders, translating complex capabilities and outcomes into clear business value to inform funding, investment, and prioritization decisions.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
