KBAK/KBFX seeks a Digital Content Producer to join our team. We are looking for a candidate who is excited about producing news stories on multiple platforms. A successful candidate knows how to use analytics to guide story choices and understands the needs of different platforms. But first, you must know and love NEWS!


Qualifications

  • Strong writing and editing skills; newsroom experience preferred
  • Knowledge of AP Style
  • Ability to create engaging digital and social media content
  • Basic photo editing skills; video production experience a plus
  • Strong news judgment and ability to gather information from multiple sources
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Adaptable, coachable, and eager to learn
  • Bachelor's degree required


Responsibilities

  • Write, edit, publish, and update digital news content for KBAK/KBFX platforms
  • Cover breaking news across web, social media, video, and live platforms
  • Monitor news sources to identify and develop timely stories
  • Report and produce original local content with compelling headlines
  • Collaborate with newsroom teams to coordinate digital coverage
  • Enhance stories with multimedia, related content, and audience-focused storytelling
  • Create digital first and social media content that drives engagement and traffic
  • Ensure website content remains accurate, current, and engaging
  • Explore innovative storytelling tools and formats
  • Uphold KBAK/KBFX’s editorial and journalistic standards across all platforms

The base hourly compensation range for this role is $17.50 to $19.50 per hour. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidates’ relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full-time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, sick leave, vacation time, personal time, parental leave and employee stock purchase plan.
