We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical Digital Content Marketing Intern to support our Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) and AI search strategy across 22 brands. Working alongside the Senior Digital Marketing Manager and Digital Team, you will learn how to leverage custom prompt engineering and optimized AI workflows to create high-converting content for Google Business Profiles. This role is ideal for someone eager to build hands-on experience at the intersection of AI search, SEO, and content strategy.

This is a six-month internship for approximately 20 hours a week (Monday through Friday). This position is in-office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Google Business Profile Content: Help support and execute content creation for Google Business Profiles across multiple brand accounts, crafting clear, high-converting posts.
  • Prompt Engineering: Learn to write, test, and refine custom prompts to produce structured content easily digestible by AI search algorithms.
  • GEO Strategy Support: Execute key administrative and operational tasks necessary to maintain our Generative Engine Optimization and AI search strategy.
  • Strategic Optimization: Analyze performance to understand the underlying "why" behind AI search behavior, using those insights to continuously improve content quality.
  • GLSA Analytics Support: Assist with gathering and maintaining Google Local Services Ads (GLSA) performance data, tracking key metrics, and supporting ongoing optimization efforts to improve local search performance and marketing outcomes across brands.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Data/Computer Science, English, or a related field.
  • Exceptional writing skills with strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
  • Excellent time-management and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines across multiple brand accounts.
  • A curious, analytical mindset focused on understanding underlying strategies ("the why"), not just following step-by-step tasks ("the what").
  • Ability to manage administrative workflows efficiently in a multi-brand environment.

Helpful (But Not Required) Experience

  • Blog writing, copywriting, or long-form content creation.
  • Basic understanding of web development or coding principles.
  • Familiarity with general digital marketing or social media concepts.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
