Primary Responsibilities:
  • 30% Performs diagnostic radiography to include fluoroscopic studies, if applicable, according to policies, procedures and protocols of the KSC radiology department. Understands and applies technical principles affecting optimal production of radiographic images, as well as anatomical orientations and anomalies affecting proper positioning. Understands age related communication needs of patients and is able to effectively convey instructions to patients to facilitate the performance of radiographic studies. Maintains an individual repeat rate of <5%
  • 15% Participates in Technical Quality Control measures which include performance of routine equipment maintenance and reporting malfunctions or variances in equipment performance to the Radiology Supervisor or his/her designee in the supervisor's absence. Maintains necessary supplies and documentation of cleaning logs as applicable
  • 15% Uses RIS system correctly, according to Clinic and Department guidelines and properly documents, for the radiologist's review, atypical conditions which could affect image quality. Understands PACS system and can identify problems with image transmission as they occur and notify Radiology Supervisor or Radiology Coordinator when corrective actions are beyond the scope of the technologist
  • 20% Conscious of radiation safety measures and demonstrates competence in the selection and use of shielding devices as is age appropriate for the patient or as requested when study content will not be compromised. Utilizes sterile technique when necessary
  • 15% Participates in formal and in service training programs of Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, department specific in services, and any applicable site specific training. Maintains current applicable licenses and/or certifications and complies with continuing education requirements necessary to maintain same. May be assigned to other duties, technical or non technical if training, experience and credentials are deemed adequate by supervisor to perform those duties
  • 5% Interacts effectively with patients and coworkers, including staff assigned to other locations. Communicates readily and well with Supervisor, Coordinator and Radiologists in giving and receiving feedback. Must have the ability to understand and respond to questions by giving factual information Capable of dealing effectively with other clinic departments, physicians, and staff. Uses the Mission and Values as a guideline for all communications, verbal, written, or electronic

Required Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology
  • Graduate Technologist designation as defined by the Texas Medical Board
  • Eligible for ARRT (R) registry
  • Employee must attain ARRT(R) and MRT-General Certificate Status within one year of eligibility

  • BLS certification through American Heart Association
  • Ability to use computer keyboard and grasp elements of digital image acquisition
  • Proven excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate in applied science-Radiology Technology
  • 1+ years of clinical Radiology Technologist experience
  • PACS and RIS experience
  • Bi-lingual or multi-lingual

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $24 - $43 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
