At Arm, we're enabling AI and applications to run everywhere-from cloud to edge-powering billions of devices worldwide!
We are looking for a Developer Relations Engineer - Edge to Cloud Platforms to help developers build across edge and cloud as one flawless system. You will turn sophisticated, distributed architectures into clear, practical mentorship that teams can use to develop, deploy, and scale real applications.
This role sits at the intersection of mobile, embedded/IoT, and cloud platforms. We help developers decide what runs on-device versus in the cloud-based on real-world tradeoffs like latency, cost, power, privacy, and reliability. You won't just explain these patterns, you will build them. You will develop reference architectures, sample applications, and standard methodologies that make hybrid systems easier to embrace and scale. You'll work closely with engineering and product teams to identify friction in SDKs, runtimes, and tooling. You will advocate for improvements across areas like on-device inference, model deployment, data pipelines, and cloud integration to reduce time to successful deployment.
Success in this role means making edge-to-cloud development feel like a single, coherent platform-and earning trust from developers through clear content, strong systems thinking, and real-world examples!
What You'll Bring
  • Experience with mobile, embedded, or IoT platforms
  • Understanding of hardware constraints (compute, memory, power, thermal)
  • Familiarity with on-device ML runtimes (e.g., LiteRT, TensorRT, Core ML)
  • Experience building or working with APIs, microservices, or serverless architectures
  • Understanding of data pipelines and ML training workflows as well as deployment, scaling, and the basics of distributed systems
  • Experience building end-to-end systems (cloud to edge)
  • Contributions to developer ecosystems (open source, SDKs, blogs, talks)
  • Ability to explain sophisticated systems clearly to a range of audiences
  • Strong debugging skills across device and distributed environments

Preferences
  • Experience with edge-to-cloud applications (mobile or IoT + cloud integration)
  • Familiarity with model formats and optimization (e.g., ONNX, quantization, TFLite)
  • Experience with ML lifecycle workflows (training in cloud, deploying to edge)
  • Background in DevEx or equivalent experience, DevRel, or developer platforms
  • Familiarity with modern cloud infrastructure (containers, Kubernetes, serverless)

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
