As the Developer Content Creator, you'll create engaging content for developers across Twitter, Reddit, and Hacker News, focusing on community engagement and growth.
The summary above was generated by AI

Recall.ai is a company that takes its social media channels very seriously. Through dedicated effort in the last 8 months, we grew our Linkedin following from 1k followers to 40k+ followers, and reached over 20M total impressions.

We've also started creating content for our developer audience, starting with writing blogs that go viral on Hacker News: Example 1, Example 2.

As our first Developer Content Creator on the team, you will shape and amplify Recall.ai's voice on the internet. You'll work closely with the founders and founding marketing team to keep our channels authentic, bold, and engaging, with a focus on technical content.

What You'll Do

You'll create content for developers and own Recall.ai’s Twitter, Reddit and Hacker News channels.

  • Content: You’ll create content on Twitter, Reddit and Hacker News that reaches a wide audience of developers, and then figure out how to monetize the audience. The content could be anything from coding fun projects, tech memes, to in depth technical blogs -- you'll explore and define what works.

  • Community engagement: Beyond just posting content on our social media channels, you’ll have the freedom to experiment with platform-specific bets, such as influencer collaborations, coordinating wide social pushes with customers, employees, and any other experiments you want to run on the platforms.

What It Will Be Like
  • Huge impact. You'll have a major role in building the company culture. You get to evolve the social media marketing motion from the strong foundation we’ve already built.

  • No bureaucracy. You’ll own and drive every initiative you work on from start to finish. We fully trust you.

  • Massive growth opportunities. And not just on the marketing side. Anything you want to learn about the business we’ll teach you.

Why You Shouldn’t Join
  • You are not ready for the occasional 60 hour work week right now.

  • You are not ready to work 5 days a week, in SF.

  • You are not comfortable working without clear structure.

  • You are not ready for a risky career opportunity. Even with our growth, we are still an early-stage startup. If you need something more predictable, this is not the right fit.

  • You’re not excited about social media. You won’t be able to succeed in this role unless you love social media.

Your Qualifications
  • Can code.

  • Strong writing skills.

  • Experience growing a following (Anything works here – a small instagram page, twitter meme page, personal youtube channel, etc)

  • Bonus points:

    • Previous experience creating content for an audience of developers

    • Previous experience at a Series A or Series B startup.

Other Benefits
  • 100% covered, top-of-the-line health insurance, dental, and vision.

  • Computer and workspace enhancements.

  • Unlimited PTO.

  • Annual company off-sites with the team to explore exciting destinations around the world.

  • Opportunity to play a critical role in building the foundations of a company.

  • Work with a group of people that deeply care about their work.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
