As a Lead Software Engineer within The Cloud Foundational Services team , you will be a vital member of an agile team focused on enhancing, building, and delivering trusted technology products that are secure, stable, and scalable. As a key technical contributor, you will be responsible for executing critical technology solutions across multiple technical domains, supporting the firm's business objectives.
The Cloud Foundational Services (CFS) Product Line, part of Infrastructure Platforms, serves as the central hub for all of JPMC's cloud capabilities. It provides a comprehensive suite of platforms, application and tools to securely and compliantly manage access to public cloud resources across all cloud service providers. CFS defines the developer experience by integrating cloud resources into a cohesive developer ecosystem and collaborates with both Enterprise Technology Product Lines and Lines of Business to promote the adoption and best practices for cloud implementation.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and development of cloud infrastructure offerings and platform tools, ensuring security, scalability, and reliability.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in one or more focus areas, providing technical leadership to the cloud engineering team.
  • Develop secure, high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others.
  • Drive decisions impacting product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes.
  • Provide regular technical guidance and direction to support business, technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
  • Influence peers and project decision-makers to adopt leading-edge technologies.
  • Foster a team culture that values diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
  • Collaborate with development teams to deliver high-quality, secure, and scalable cloud applications.
  • Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements for the cloud.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 5+ years of applied experience.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud computing platform providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Advanced knowledge of containerization and orchestration platforms like Docker, Kubernetes, and ECS.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure provisioning tools like Terraform, Pulumi, Crossplane, and CloudFormation.
  • Advanced proficiency in programming languages such as Golang, Python, or Java, and understanding of software development life cycle best practices.
  • Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with minimal oversight.
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies, CI/CD practices and tools, and security best practices.
  • Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
  • Experience in implementing multi-cloud architectures.
  • AWS, GCP, or Azure professional certifications.
  • Certifications in relevant areas such as Cloud, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and FinOps.
