Who We’re Seeking:

We are looking for an agile and culturally curious Director of Creative Strategy to lead creative strategy efforts across Omaze’s campaigns. The ideal candidate is a blue sky creative thinker who understands how to translate consumer insights into actionable creative strategies in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. They lead with a customer-first approach to insights discovery and creative ideation, and are passionate about conducting customer-centric research across a variety of first and third party resources. 

Ideal candidates for this role are passionate about storytelling, building audience-led creative briefs, producing insights-driven creative strategies and pushing the boundaries of channel and format innovation.

Last, yet possibly most importantly, they will be a culture junkie at heart, obsessed with the latest platform trends and challenges, possessing a deep understanding and interest in rising subcultures shaping the digital zeitgeist. They’ll also have experience – and ongoing passion – infusing those trends and insights into effective creative strategies.

What you’ll do: 

  • Demonstrate a strong ability to distill a wealth of information into simple and compelling plans, presentations and stories
  • Conduct research, including social media analysis, landscape audits and trend mining
  • Create insights that are actionable, goal-oriented and provides a unique perspective
  • Understand the key trends that drive consumer behavior and affect the way that brands communicate – always living at the intersection of brand, culture, and creativity
  • Develop emotive creative briefs to inspire customer-led, idea-centric strategies that creative teams can use to develop compelling work across three key areas: 1. Experiences (e.g. Cars, Travel, etc.), 2. Winner and 3. Impact (e.g. Charities, Nonprofits, etc.). 
  • Examine all projects through an inclusive lens to reflect a profoundly diverse customer
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and coordinate marketing campaign efforts with various internal teams and stakeholders
  • Lead team brainstorms that efficiently produce breakthrough insights and ideas
  • Provide leadership, coaching and mentorship to the Creative Strategy team

 Our Ideal Candidate:

  • 10-12 years experience as a creative strategist at a brand, publisher or agency
  • Strong foundation in brand strategy, creative thinking and insights discovery
  • Ability to discern customer insights and “human truths” from mounds of data
  • Passion and empathy for the customer’s perspective, and ability to uncover “what’s in it for the customer?”
  • Hands-on self-starter accustomed to prioritization, while working under pressure in a constantly evolving environment
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and planning skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Experience ideating, producing and/or pitching multi-platform programs in partnership with creative counterparts
  • Love/hate relationship (but more love) building compelling Google Slides presentations

Location

The office is located in Marina del Rey with easy access to plenty of restaurants. We are close to LAX, beaches and Marina.
