About The Role

Amplitude is building the operating system for digital product innovation—and our Deal Desk team sits right at the center of how we monetize that vision. This team partners deeply with Sales, Finance, Legal, and Revenue Accounting to structure smart, scalable deals that accelerate growth without introducing risk.

As a Deal Desk Manager, you’ll act as a strategic advisor on our most important and complex opportunities. You’ll help shape deal strategy, guide pricing and contract decisions, and bring clarity to ambiguity—all while keeping the business moving fast. This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and likes being where decisions actually get made.

This role is remote, with a preference for candidates based in the Eastern Time Zone to enable consistent collaboration with EMEA stakeholders when needed.

As a Deal Desk Manager, you will:

  • Own deal strategy for complex opportunities by advising Sales on pricing, packaging, contract terms, and negotiation strategy—especially for enterprise and non-standard deals
  • Drive deal execution end-to-end by reviewing and approving non-standard transactions within SLA while ensuring all approvals are obtained and aligned with revenue recognition, legal, and operational policies
  • Act as the connective tissue across teams (Sales, Legal, Finance, RevOps, Accounting) to align on deal structure, mitigate risk, and remove blockers quickly
  • Partner on non-standard deal structures to balance business impact with compliance, including revenue recognition and contractual considerations
  • Identify and scale better ways of working by improving the Quote to Order process, leveraging AI tools, codifying best practices, and enabling the Sales team to move faster and smarter

You'll be a great addition to the team if:

  • You thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and are energized by complex, high-stakes deals that require creative thinking and sound judgment
  • You build trust with Sales by being a valued partner—creative, collaborative, and solution-oriented—while still holding the line when it matters
  • You’re energized by cross-functional collaboration and know how to drive alignment across strong personalities and competing priorities
  • You have a sharp eye for risk and detail, but don’t lose sight of the bigger picture
  • You're a clear, thoughtful communicator with strong critical thinking skills and a constant drive to improve systems, processes, and how teams work together

At a minimum, you need to have:

  • 5+ years of experience in Deal Desk, Sales Operations, or a similar deal strategy role in a SaaS or subscription-based business
  • Strong understanding of deal structuring, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations
  • Experience partnering with Legal and Finance on non-standard terms and approvals
  • Proficiency with Salesforce (CPQ experience strongly preferred) and comfort working with data and complex deal scenarios
  • Familiarity with channel selling model and transacting through cloud marketplaces

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
