EvenUp is hiring a Deal Desk Manager who will own our end-to-end commercial deal process, ensuring deals are structured to win, compliant, scalable, and profitable. This person will partner closely with Sales, RevOps, Finance, Legal, and Product to accelerate deal velocity, improve forecasting reliability, and standardize how we price, package, discount, and contract across segments.

What you'll do

  • Deal Strategy & Execution

    • Own the deal review process from initial deal strategy through booking, ensuring fast turnaround and high-quality guidance to Sales and Customer Success.

    • Lead deal structuring for complex opportunities (multi-year, ramp deals, usage-based / consumption, enterprise security, etc.)

    • Identify deal risks early (commercial, operational, compliance) and drive mitigations with cross-functional partners.

    • Provide real-time recommendations on pricing, discounting, packaging, and commercial terms to maximize win rate and ACV while protecting margin.

  • Pricing, Packaging, and Discount Governance

    • Manage and enforce discounting policies and approval workflows; ensure consistency across teams and regions.

    • Build and maintain a repeatable framework for AI/usage-based pricing models (where applicable), including commit structures and overage mechanics.

  • Contracting

    • Serve as the primary point of coordination between Sales and Legal for redlines, negotiating positions, and escalation paths.

    • Drive contracting speed and accuracy by standardizing templates, fallback clauses, and playbooks (MSA, DPA, security addendum, procurement language).

    • Ensure deals are bookable: align quote configuration, billing schedules, payment terms, and provisioning requirements with O2C readiness.

    • Reduce friction in handoffs to Billing/Collections, CS/Onboarding, and Revenue Recognition by improving data quality and required fields.

  • Process, Systems, and Enablement

    • Own and ensure quote accuracy, clean approvals, and clear audit trails.

    • Optimize tooling, automation, and dashboards that track cycle times, approvals, and deal health with SFDC.

    • Create training and enablement for Sales and cross-functional partners: how to structure deals, when to escalate, and how to avoid common pitfalls.

    • Build and maintain a library of deal desk resources (playbooks, checklists, approval matrices, negotiation guidance, pricing calculators) in partnership with Enablement.

    • Establish clear operating rhythms with Legal, Finance, and RevOps (SLAs, escalation protocols, weekly pipeline/deal reviews).

    • Drive alignment across GTM teams on changes to pricing, packaging, contracting standards, and commercial policy.

What we look for

  • 6+ years of total work experience with 4+ years in deal desk, finance, sales strategy, contract/commercial operations, or related roles

  • Strong command of SaaS commercial constructs including ARR/ACV, bookings, renewals/expansions, discounting, payment terms, ramps, basic rev rec concepts

  • Operational fluency with quoting and CRM systems (Salesforce required; Docusign preferred)

  • Experience designing and enforcing pricing/discount governance: approval matrices, pricing floors, exception handling, and auditability.

  • Excellent stakeholder management: comfortable challenging assumptions, influencing without authority, and driving decisions with Sales leadership, Finance, and Legal.

  • Track record of taking messy, undefined processes and turning them into repeatable, scalable systems

  • Experience at a high growth tech company, SaaS, cloud, or AI/ML company

  • Experience with deal operations at companies with subscription and/or consumption-based business models

  • Hands-on experience improving quote-to-cash (Q2C) systems and processes, including billing schedules and order forms.

  • Experience partnering with RevRec/accounting on deal implications (e.g., non-standard billing, variable consideration, services attachments).

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
