FEA Engineer

We’re looking for a FEA Engineer to join Team Spectacles! As a member of the Spectacles team, you will analyze new designs and help validate the integrity and reliability of our products! Working from our Venice, CA office, you’ll collaborate with the hardware engineering team to produce amazing Spectacles products.
What you’ll do:
- Analyze our Snap Lab products with state of the art simulation tools
- Perform advanced analysis and modeling using LS Dyna, ANSYS and similar tools
- Correlate and optimize simulations to actual product reliability results
- Participate in the design, prototyping, and validation of new concepts and mass production solutions
- Provide technical support to internal teams and collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors
- Research new materials, manufacturing technologies, and design methodologies
Minimum qualifications:
- Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, material science, or related field
- Experience with modeling advanced drop simulations and non-linear FEA analysis
- High proficiency in LS Dyna, ANSYS or similar simulation tools
- Experience correlating and optimizing simulation to test data results
Preferred qualifications:
- 5+ years of engineering experience in consumer electronics products
- A wide knowledge of engineering materials and manufacturing methodology
- Familiarity with commonly used engineering materials including plastics, metals and composite materials
- Experience in thermal analysis, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), magnetic and modal analyses a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with high attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
- Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of a company
