Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Data Project Manager to join our growing Data Engineering team. In this pivotal role, you will drive Agile ceremonies and team productivity while fostering a collaborative environment focused on building scalable data pipelines and analytics tools to support clinical operations.
The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of Agile principles, excels in team facilitation, and has hands-on experience supporting data engineering teams working with Python, SQL, Databricks, and the Azure cloud ecosystem.
What You'll Be Working On (Duties include but not limited to):
- Agile Facilitation and Project Leadership
- Lead all Agile ceremonies including daily standups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives
- Serve as a servant leader and coach to ensure Agile best practices are effectively implemented across the team
- Use JIRA and Confluence to manage and visualize work, ensuring accurate tracking of epics, user stories, tasks, and bugs
- Promote continuous improvement and help the team increase velocity without compromising quality
- Team Collaboration and Delivery
- Partner with Product Owners and technical leads to manage a well-prioritized backlog aligned with business goals
- Capture requirements from business stakeholders and translate them into working specifications for engineers
- Proactively identify blockers and impediments, resolving them quickly or escalating when necessary
- Ensure the team is focused, supported, and working effectively toward sprint commitments
- Track delivery metrics and guide data-driven decision-making
- Support testing efforts by ensuring quality deliverables have been completed in the way it was intended
- Technical Awareness and Environment
- Collaborate with data engineers and architects to understand technical workflows, tools, and dependencies
- Support teams building within Databricks, dbt, Azure resources, and related services
- Understand and speak to technical dependencies in pipelines written in Python/pySpark and SQL
- Ensure Scrum ceremonies align with the iterative delivery cycles typical in data engineering environments
- Other Responsibilities
- Assist with additional projects such as report design, data maintenance, etc.

Physical Requirements:
- This role requires 100% of work to be performed in a remote office environment and requires the ability to use keyboards and other computer equipment.
Travel Requirements:
- This is a remote position with less than 10% travel requirements. Occasional planned travel may be required as part of the role.
What You Bring (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and mission-driven environment
Certifications, Education, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, data analytics, systems engineering, or related field
- 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Delivery Lead, preferably with data or software engineering teams
Licenses:
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PMI-ACP/PMP, or equivalent certification preferred
