Job Responsibilities:
The Data Privacy Legal Counsel will provide legal advisory services on data privacy and protection, ensuring compliance by providing expert knowledge and cost-effective advice, guidance, and support on a proactive basis, to minimize potential risk exposure and legal claims within the region of scope.

  • Provide cross-functional advice and guidance on regional data privacy and regulatory inquiries, with focus on employee and candidate data privacy.
  • Develop practical solutions for fundamental questions in alignment with relevant data privacy regulations.
  • Assist in evaluating and analyzing new technologies and systems for data privacy compliance.
  • Supports and assists with the implementation and maintenance of Data Privacy related operations including but not limited to data inventories, data privacy notices and consent notices.
  • Review, negotiate and draft contracts, particularly data processing agreements, standard contractual clauses, and internal policies, including in an international context.
  • Contribute to process improvements, increased efficiency, compliance framework enhancements and development of standard methodologies.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and monitor industry trends to remain informed about future developments, trends, and best practices related to data privacy and regulatory requirements.
  • Assists divisions in the preparation and documentation of internal audits related to Data Privacy, evaluates potential findings, and provides guidance in the implementation of action plans.
  • Raises awareness among employees by developing Data Privacy training sessions.


Who we are looking for

  • LLB degree with a license to practice law in a European Union country, minimum 3-5 years of experience in data privacy, regulatory compliance and contract law.
  • Strong understanding of GDPR, international data transfer mechanisms and employee data privacy regulations.
  • Certifications in data privacy (e.g. CIPP/E or similar) are a plus.
  • Proven track record advising on GDPR compliance, including risk assessments, DPIAs, and regulatory responses.
  • Experience reviewing, negotiating, and drafting data processing agreements (DPAs), standard contractual clauses (SCCs), and vendor contracts.
  • Hands-on experience with privacy frameworks, data inventories, and regulatory audits.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams (Legal, HR, IT, Compliance) on privacy initiatives.
  • Strong legal analysis and problem-solving skills with a strategic, risk-based approach.
  • Ability to develop and implement training programs for employees.
  • Ability to simplify complex legal and technical concepts actionable business guidance.
  • Native or C2 fluency in German and English required.
