EquipmentShare is searching for a Data Engineer - People Analytics for our corporate office in Columbia, MO, to support our team as the department continues to grow.  

Salary range: $110k-$140k. Factors including past experience and location may affect final compensation rate. 

Job Summary: Serve as the point person for transforming EquipmentShare’s Human Resource-focused business and analytics needs into a scalable and repeatable structure. Partners with stakeholders and the People Analytics team to create and monitor data pipelines, with a focus on developing processes and architecture efficiently and for the first time.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage data pipelines using SQL and Python that extract data from various sources and transform it according to business rules
  • Work with data from diverse sources, including Workday, survey data (e.g. Qualtrics), and LMS systems to construct scalable analytics reports proficiently
  • Convert business needs into technical specifications and establish a timetable for job completion
  • Create, test, and deploy changes
  • Continuously monitor, improve, and proactively identify potential issues to improve the data pipelines and ETLs

Required Skills/Abilities:

Minimum qualifications:

  • At least 4+ years of SQL experience, creating complex SQL solutions to business problems
  • At least 3+ years of Python experience, creating scalable processes to solve business problems
  • At least 2+ years of experience data modeling
  • Experienced with dtb
  • Experience working with git
  • Experience working in the AWS landscape with AWS products
  • Desire to thrive in a high-paced environment
  • Strong ability to adapt and be flexible within the scope of a given project as vision, priorities, and timelines shift

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working with confidential data within departments like Human Resources, Finance or Accounting

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Education or Experience required

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and work on a computer
