REVOLVE is the next-generation fashion retailer for Millennial and Generation Z consumers. As a trusted, premium lifestyle brand and a go-to source for discovery and inspiration, REVOLVE delivers an engaging customer experience from a vast yet curated offering of over 45,000 products. Founded in Los Angeles in 2003 by co-CEOs, Michael Mente and Mike Karanikolas, REVOLVE’s family of brands includes their luxury offering, FWRD and a portfolio of 24 owned brands such as Lovers + Friends, Tularosa, NBD and RAYE.

The Owned Brand division within REVOLVE is an industry-leading fashion design and production house based in Los Angeles. Leveraging the power of REVOLVE’s data driven merchandising, combined with raw creative talent, results in an unparalleled ability to identify specific market niches and develop brands that each have their own identity, designed with a distinct consumer interest and personality in mind.

At REVOLVE the most successful team members have the thirst and creativity to redefine fashion retail for the 21st century, making REVOLVE the leading online retail destination targeted towards Millennial and Generation Z consumers seeking premium fashion. With a team of 1,000 strong, we are a dynamic bunch that are motivated by getting the company to the next level. It’s our goal to hire high-energy, diverse, bright, creative, and flexible individuals who thrive in a fast-paced work environment.

Some of the sweetest perks we offer aren’t in a typical benefit package like hefty discounts on items we carry – as in 50% or more off retail prices, free weekly lunches, and pretty rad company parties.

Main purpose of the Cultural Scout (Trend & Concept) Associate for LPP team:

We’re looking for a highly instinctive, taste-driven creative who is deeply embedded in a specific, emerging fashion landscape. This is not a traditional design role, it’s about proximity to culture. You’re not just observing trends—you’re already in them. You’re out in the right places, paying attention to the right people, and naturally tuned into what feels new, relevant, and directional before it becomes widely visible. This is a part time or full time role about bringing that trending, on-the-ground perspective into the team. This position will report to the LPP Sr. Director and will work seamlessly with our current team members.

Major Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Build mood boards, concept decks, and visual directions rooted in what you’re seeing
  • Stay immersed in a hyper-current fashion scene—spending time in stores, neighborhoods, events, and digital spaces where newness is actually happening
  • Surface emerging brands, aesthetics, and shifts as they’re forming, not after they’ve peaked
  • Bring in a constant flow of references, images, and ideas pulled from real-world observation
  • Effectively partner with the team to translate instinct and references into product direction
  • Contribute a clear, opinionated point of view on what feels right now and what’s coming next
  • Complete ad-hoc tasks and assignments as directed by management

Competencies

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Exceptional taste and a strong visual instinct - you know when something works without overanalyzing it
  • Genuine cultural proximity: you’re already part of (or adjacent to) a younger, trend-forward fashion community
  • A natural habit of being out in the world: shopping, exploring, documenting, and noticing
  • Strong awareness of niche and emerging brands, not just mainstream trends
  • Ability to articulate your point of view, even if it’s intuitive rather than technical
  • A perspective that feels current, specific, and personal—not broad or overly commercial
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Comfortable working in a very collaborative, creative, fast paced, and agile environment
  • Flexible personality willing to take direction and change as business needs change/grow

Minimum Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of garments and construction (enough to communicate ideas)
  • Experience putting together visual references, decks, or creative presentations
  • Photography, styling, or content instincts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar role

A successful candidate works well in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision. As a REVOLVE affiliated company we all roll up our sleeves to pitch-in and do whatever it takes to get the job done. Each day is a little different, it’s what keeps us on our toes and excited to come to work every day.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
