Role Overview

We’re looking for a Creative Technologist who can independently design, test, and optimize generative AI workflows in a fast-moving production environment.

This role sits at the intersection of creative intent and technical execution, owning pipeline design, model experimentation, and workflow refinement across multiple genres.

You’ll operate across all creative pods as both a builder and a guide, translating creative briefs into structured AI systems while helping scale our production capabilities.

This person will also stay on the cutting edge of AI media, continuously testing new tools and workflows, presenting findings, and helping position TrueShort as a leader in the space.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain end-to-end AI workflows for image and video generation

  • Build repeatable templates for shot production across series

  • Integrate ControlNet systems (depth, pose, motion, segmentation) into workflows

  • Manage model versioning, LoRA stacks, and asset consistency

  • Test and evaluate new AI tools, models, and creative workflows

  • Present findings and workflow improvements to internal teams

  • Act as a technical resource across creative pods

  • Build relationships with leading AI platforms and contribute to thought leadership in the space

  • Establish and maintain a public-facing presence for TrueShort’s innovation and R&D efforts, showcasing workflows, insights, and creative advancements

Tools & Skills

  • Strong experience with ComfyUI

  • Solid working knowledge of Python (automation, scripting, debugging)

  • Deep understanding of latent diffusion workflows and VAE decoding

  • Experience with ControlNet variants and model conditioning techniques

  • Familiarity with AI tools (Midjourney, Nano Banana, Seedream, etc.)

  • Experience with AI video tools (Kling, Veo, Seedance, Runway, etc.)

  • Strong awareness of the AI filmmaking community on X, with the ability to track emerging workflows, tools, and techniques in real time

Nice to Have

  • Experience in film, animation, or VFX environments

  • Familiarity with Nuke, Blender, Unreal, or similar tools

  • Understanding of color pipelines and high bit-depth workflows

  • Active presence in the AI community (X, research, or publishing insights)

Compensation
Full Time: $120,000 – $180,000 annually (depending on experience)
Contract: Flexible based on scope
Location: Remote or Hybrid (LA Preferred)
