A bit about the role
Shoptalk, producer of the world's most important retail and commerce events and a global pioneer in event design, is looking for a Graphic Production Manager to support our design department's projects, deadlines and file fulfillment while helping create and output graphics as needed.
We produce four events a year in Las Vegas, Nashville and Barcelona that bring together tens of thousands of retailers, brands and the people shaping the future of commerce. This role bridges internal design, operations and marketing: manage the design team's project pipeline in Monday.com, turn approved templates into production/signage files and make sure every asset ships. This position helps maintain flawless production output of graphic files while our senior creatives focus on building world-class design systems, strategies and brand experiences.
You will report to the Global VP-Marketing with a dotted line to the SVP-Operations. Day to day, you will work with the global creative team, our marketing and operations teams and the print partners and fabricators who build the work for our incredible designers.
Project Management & Deadlines
  • Support the global creative team's project management campaigns, keeping every project, deadline and deliverable visible in Monday.com and tracking intake through approval and delivery.
  • Manage the graphic fulfillment schedule, working back from launch dates, vendor lead times and load-in with direction from the Global Creative Director.
  • Support the project schedule boards, timelines, project automations and additional related dashboards.
  • Run weekly status check-ins with the Global Creative Director.

Template Design & File Output
  • Work from templated design systems to create and output graphic/signage files across print, digital, social and on-site formats.
  • Use templates approved by the Global Creative Director to support creation of such assets as speaker cards, sponsor signage, wayfinding, social and email assets.
  • Manage file specs, naming conventions, version control and the asset archive at the direction of the Global Creative Director and team.
  • As needed, deliver print-ready files and/or create/manage proofs for the creative team.
  • Work within the creative team's existing data merges, batch tools and AI tools.

Traffic & Execution
  • Help traffic inbound requests from across Shoptalk teams.
  • Triage and prioritize workload with creative team leadership, and help support the design team's changing project needs.
  • Support fulfillment of all assets against deadlines and budget targets.
  • Work with heads of creative, operations and design to build and refine intake forms, request templates and workflows.

Cross-Team Communication
  • Support cross-team collaboration between Shoptalk design, operations and marketing.
  • Keep the operations team updated on asset status against the show schedule and vendor lead times.
  • Partner with marketing on campaign, email, social and sponsor deliverables so creative lands on time and on brand.
  • Support regular status updates on what shipped and what is in progress.
  • Serve as a day-to-day liaison between the internal teams and external graphics partners as needed.

Planning, Budget & On-Site Support
  • Support and connect the design production calendar with marketing, operations and the global creative team.

What we're looking for:
Experience
  • Experience in graphic design, design production or design coordination, ideally in events at an agency or on an in-house marketing team.
  • Experience turning templates into graphic file sets with consistency and accuracy.
  • Hands-on experience managing projects in Monday.com or a similar tool such as Asana or Trello.
  • Working knowledge of print production, including specs, proofs and large-format output.
  • Comfort working across creative, operations and marketing teams and to a creative director's standard.
  • Ability to work from our Midtown Manhattan office three days per week (Tuesday to Thursday).
Knowledge & Skills
  • Strong skills in Adobe Creative Cloud, especially Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop, with command of print and digital export settings.
  • Comfort with InDesign data merge, Illustrator variables, actions or other batch workflows for high-volume output.
  • Comfortable using Claude, ChatGPT, Runway and other AI systems that can raise the work and move it faster.
  • Monday.com fluency, including boards, timelines, automations and dashboards.
  • Figma for design handoff and collaboration. Familiarity with 3D or spatial tools such as SketchUp is a plus.
  • Color management, file preparation and typography for print, digital and environmental scale.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
