We’re looking for a Creative Engineer — a creative problem solver with a strong design foundation and a systems-driven mindset. This role sits at the intersection of design, technology, and automation. You’ll help bring client brands to life within dynamic creative templates, using our in-house tools to create scalable systems that adapt to strategy and performance data.

You Will:

  • Translate brand guidelines and static designs into dynamic, on-brand template systems.
  • Use our custom Figma and After Effects plugins to build, animate, and refine automated creative templates.
  • Create mock-ups and visual examples to present creative systems and dynamic concepts to clients.
  • Collaborate with the product team to test, feedback, and improve our internal tools and automation workflows.
  • Explore and contribute to the development of new AI-based creative solutions.
  • Create and maintain detailed Template Guides for each project, documenting specifications, logic, and creative parameters.
  • Prepare, crop, and optimise assets for use within templates.
  • Partner with strategists and developers to ensure creative templates align with campaign logic and data-driven objectives.
  • Maintain exceptional organisation, quality, and attention to detail across all builds.
  • Contribute to brand guideline development and forward-thinking visual solutions.

You’ll Thrive in This Role If You...

  • Have a strong background in visual or motion design and enjoy exploring how creativity meets technology.
  • Are curious about automation, creative systems, and AI.
  • Enjoy structured problem solving and logical thinking alongside hands-on creative work.
  • Are proactive and confident in sharing ideas for how we can improve tools or workflows.
  • Take pride in producing clear, precise documentation and beautifully structured templates.
  • Like working collaboratively with designers, developers, and product teams.

You Have:

  • Strong proficiency in Figma and After Effects.
  • Interest or experience in motion design, animation, or creative automation.
  • Excellent organisation, documentation, and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and consistency across assets and templates.
  • 2+ years of design experience.
  • Experience in DCO, programmatic, or ad tech environments.
  • Familiarity with creative render pipelines or light coding (e.g. HTML, GSAP, JSON).
  • Understanding of data-driven creative systems.
  • Curiosity around AI tools and their role in creative production.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
