Wave is seeking a visionary Creative Director to lead end-to-end creative direction across immersive virtual experiences, live/digital content, and cross-channel marketing. This role bridges design, storytelling, branding, and interactive media, shaping the future of music, entertainment, gaming, and creator-driven virtual worlds. You will own creative strategy and execution for animation, digital/video content, branding, and experiential design—ensuring Wave’s aesthetic and experiential identity pushes boundaries and sets new standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and articulate the creative vision for Wave experiences across VR, live/digital productions, and multi-channel campaigns
- Direct the creative development of animation, 3D/CG assets, digital and video content, stage/world design, and marketing materials
- Partner with product, experience design, and talent teams to shape highly innovative interactive performances and creator-driven worlds
- Drive brand evolution across all surfaces—ensuring consistency, innovation, and high-performance storytelling for a cutting-edge entertainment platform
- Translate strategic objectives into compelling creative concepts, treatments, storyboards, prototypes, and finished assets
- Oversee in-house creatives and external vendors, ensuring best-in-class execution and operational efficiency
- Experiment with new technologies (real-time engines, motion capture, virtual production) to advance Wave’s creative toolset and production pipeline
- Maintain a strong pulse on culture, art, gaming, and music trends to fuel breakthrough creative ideas
Required Qualifications
- 12+ years in creative direction, design leadership, or similar roles within entertainment, gaming, immersive media, or creative studios
- Advanced portfolio demonstrating world-building, animation/3D, video, branding, and cross-channel campaign work
- Deep understanding of real-time engines (Unreal/Unity), virtual production, CG pipelines, and digital storytelling
- Strong leadership in both ideation and execution—capable of inspiring teams and delivering high-impact creative at scale
- Exceptional communication, concept development, and pitch skills
- Passion for the intersection of music, technology, gaming, and interactive entertainment
Salary Range: $110,000 - $150,000**
**Salaries at Wave are based on a few factors including a candidate's location (to account for any cost of living differences), their experience level and their performance during the interview process. On top of a cash salary we also include company equity in the form of stock options with every full time offer as well as other benefits (insurance, 401k, unlimited PTO, laptop/desktop and other IT equipment as needed, subsidized monthly home internet, etc). Salary ranges at Wave are determined based on the job requirements, experience level and market data attained from compensation surveys.
