Reporting to the Executive Creative Director, this role leads creative development across campaigns, content, and brand experiences that help members, patients, caregivers, and communities understand, trust, and engage with Humana.
In a typical day, you may guide concept development, review creative work, mentor designers and writers, partner with strategy and marketing teams, and translate business goals into clear, compelling creative solutions. This role is ideal for a hands-on creative leader who can balance strategic thinking, brand stewardship, team development, and high-quality execution in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
The Creative Director leads the development of insight-driven creative concepts and brand expressions for Humana’s in-house agency. This role guides creative teams from strategy through execution, ensuring work is clear, differentiated, on-brand, and effective across channels. The Creative Director partners with creative, content, strategy, marketing, operations, compliance, and business stakeholders to deliver work that supports enterprise priorities. This work helps Humana create communications and experiences that build trust, improve understanding, and support better outcomes for members and patients.
Key Role Functions
Lead creative direction for integrated campaigns, brand initiatives, and content experiences across channels
Translate business goals, consumer insights, data, and brand strategy into compelling creative concepts that support member and patient engagement
Guide, mentor, and develop creative talent by providing clear feedback, elevating craft, and strengthening team performance
Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to align creative strategy, timelines, priorities, approvals, and delivery expectations
Champion brand consistency, quality, accessibility, and compliance while identifying opportunities to improve creative effectiveness
Provide hands-on review and feedback throughout the workflow for each project the team supports, ensuring consistency, adherence to creative development best practices, and the highest standards for end users

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Design, or a related creative field, or equivalent professional experience
8+ years of experience developing strategic creative concepts, campaigns, brand identity systems, or marketing content in an agency, in-house agency, or creative organization
5+ years of experience leading creative talent, managing a creative team, or directing cross-functional creative work
Portfolio demonstrating mastery of creative concept development, brand expression, campaign execution, and multi-channel storytelling
Demonstrated experience presenting creative strategy, providing actionable feedback, and partnering with stakeholders to deliver high-quality creative work
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in healthcare, insurance, financial services, or another regulated industry
Experience leading creative work for enterprise brands, brand portfolios, or large matrixed organizations
Experience with creative operations, Agile workflows, content management, digital asset management, or approval platforms
Proficiency with industry-standard creative tools, including Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
Ability to apply consumer insights, performance data, market trends, and emerging creative best practices to improve creative outcomes
