The Cost Accounting Manager leads the cost accounting team to provide timely, relevant and accurate product cost information and analysis of business performance in support of all of Revelyst’s brands. Reporting to the Director of Accounting, and based in our Irvine, California office, this position plays a key role in understanding manufacturing performance, cost trends and product profitability. The Cost Accounting Manager also works closely with the manufacturing and sourcing, business unit leadership

As the Cost Accounting Manager, you will have an opportunity to:

  • Lead the cost accounting process for all group companies to ensure accurate inventory costing.

  • Maintain accurate standard costing models, including appropriate allocations of raw materials, labor, overhead and other costs, in accordance with GAAP and company policy.

  • Provide accurate and timely reporting of manufacturing performance, including detailed and actionable analyses of manufacturing variances.

  • Provide insights into product cost trends and their current and projected impact on operating results.

  • Collaborate with manufacturing and sourcing, business unit leadership and FP&A teams on the development and updating of product standard costs.

  • Support the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.

  • Continually work to improve and standardize cost accounting systems and processes, while working within multiple ERP systems.

  • Analyze inventory quantities and costs compared to anticipated usage, sales prices and relevant other information to ensure valuation at lower of cost or net realizable value.

  • Recruit, develop, mentor, and motivate a high-performing cost accounting team.

  • Collaborate with manufacturing, sourcing and other teams to optimize cost efficiencies.

  • Develop and document accounting policies and procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies and relevant accounting standards.

  • Support internal and external audits.

You have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.

  • Strong knowledge of standard costing and inventory accounting processes and US GAAP.

  • 10+ years’ progressive experience in accounting, including 5+ years in cost accounting and 5+ years leading a team.

  • Substantial experience leading the cost accounting process in large or mid-cap manufacturing companies—preferably in consumer products or similar industry.

  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle or Netsuite.

  • Ability to work in a complex organization having multiple business units, brands and ERP systems.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

  • Demonstrated talent for developing systems and improving processes and a mindset for continuous improvement.

  • Strong work ethic, a sense of urgency and unquestioned integrity.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, etc.).

  • Ability to work on site in our Irvine, CA offices at least 4 days per week.

You might have:

  • Certified Public Accountant license or Certified Management Accountant certification

Pay Range:

Annual Salary: $145,000.00 - $152,000.00

The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
