Role Overview:

Reporting to the Head of Communications for NYLIM, this individual will be responsible for executive communications that will advance the CEO's and executive team's internal and external communication priorities, enhance executive visibility and ensure consistent high-quality messaging across key audiences and channels. This individual will provide detailed, high-touch support for CEO communications, including speechwriting, messaging, briefing materials, talking points and preparation for internal events, external speaking engagements, media opportunities and other executive visibility moments.
This role requires a high degree of responsiveness, adaptability and professional maturity - the ability to stay calm under pressure, pivot quickly when priorities shift and earn the trust of senior leaders through consistently excellent work.
What You'll Do:
• Serve as the communications lead for coordinating and supporting CEO communications, working under the direction of the Head of NYLIM Communications and in close partnership with the Chief of Staff.
• Develop and support high-quality executive communications materials, including speeches, talking points, briefing documents, internal messages, external remarks, presentations and prep materials.
• Provide direct, high-touch communications support, ensuring messaging is clear, strategic, consistent and aligned with business priorities.
• Secure, coordinate and advance external visibility opportunities for the CEO, including speaking engagements, media opportunities, industry events, conferences and other thought leadership platforms.
• Coordinate across internal stakeholders, business partners and external parties to manage logistics and communications planning for CEO-sponsored events, including town halls, leadership forums and other internal events.
• Operate with a high degree of autonomy and sound judgment, proactively identifying communications needs, gaps and opportunities - and taking initiative to address them.
• Partner with colleagues to identify, assess and leverage ongoing media relations activity for NYLIM that may create relevant opportunities for the CEO.
• Contribute to the broader NYLIM Communications team's goals, priorities and metrics through disciplined execution, strong stakeholder management and high-quality communications support - this includes providing oversight and execution of communications narratives and materials that are used by the CEO and executive team.
• Stay current with communications best practices, emerging technologies and generative AI tools to help improve team efficiency, content quality and overall communications capabilities.
• Act as an informal team leader and trusted resource for communications colleagues, mentoring junior team members, modeling strong executive communications practices and helping elevate the quality, consistency and effectiveness of the team's work.
What You'll Bring:
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Journalism, or related field.
• 7-10 years of experience supporting senior leader communications, with a high preference for experience in asset or wealth management; financial services industry experience is a must.
• Strong media relations skills and experience engaging financial press.
• Strong executive presence and comfort working directly with senior leaders and C-suite stakeholders.
• Excellent writing, editing and messaging skills, with demonstrated experience developing speeches, talking points, briefing materials and leadership communications.
• Strong project management, organizational and logistical coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously and respond quickly and reliably to time-sensitive requests from senior leaders.
• Sound judgment, discretion and professionalism, including the ability to handle sensitive information and high-profile communications.
• Ability to synthesize complex business topics into clear, compelling messages for internal and external audiences.
• Collaborative relationship-builder who can work effectively across communications, business, legal, compliance, marketing senior leadership and external teams.
• Proactive, detail-oriented and highly responsive, with a strong growth mindset and ability to anticipate executive communications needs.
• Experience using AI-powered communication tools to optimize engagement and support organizational goals.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech
- Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
