Our go-to-market team is distributed across the United States and the United Kingdom.

About The Role
The Ketch Corporate Counsel will navigate the legal landscape of a rapidly growing SaaS company. In this role, you will collaborate cross-functionally with sales, customer experience, tech & product, and operations. This role touches on elements of commercial, data privacy, employment and corporate law. The Ketch Corporate Counsel will help shape the legal frameworks, policies, and practices that scale with the business. 

This is a hybrid role based out of the San Francisco HQ 3 days a week.

Responsibilities:

  • Commercial Agreements: Draft and negotiate SaaS, vendor, and partner agreements; support deal execution and ensure compliance with policies and risk standards
  • Data Privacy: Advise on privacy and data protection laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and assist in compliance.  Potential to serve as the company’s Data Protection Officer (DPO).
  • Employment: Handle employment-related legal matters.
  • Corporate Law:  Maintain legal templates and policies; support audits and certifications (e.g., SOC2); manage external counsel.

Experience:

  • 6+ years of legal experience, with a combination of law firm and in-house counsel roles required
  • 3+ years experience negotiating commercial SaaS agreements across a broad range of contract values
  • 2+ years in a start-up or high-growth company

Qualifications and Characteristics:

  • Strong background in privacy law, data governance, and cross-border data-transfer mechanisms
  • Clear, practical legal thinking aligned with business needs
  • Exceptional communication, time management, organizational and people alignment skills. Able to convey legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
  • JD and active CA Bar membership
  • Able to work legally in the United States 
  • Excited to work in our San Francisco office at least three days per week
  • English language fluency (spoken and written).  Second language fluency a plus
