24Seven Hotels is seeking a Senior Payroll Manager to lead accurate, compliant payroll operations for a growing, multi-state hotel management company. This role oversees payroll processing, tax compliance, reporting, audit support, payroll systems, and payroll-related benefits administration for a high-volume, multi-property workforce.

In this role, you will be responsible for administering multiple different payrolls on a biweekly basis. The Senior Payroll Manager partners with People Resources & Development, Finance, Operations, property leaders, benefit vendors, auditors, and external partners to anticipate payroll needs before issues arise, maintain strong controls, support hotel transitions, resolve associate pay issues quickly, and collaborate with Total Rewards leadership on payroll-related benefits processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Lead bi-weekly payroll operations with accuracy, urgency, and care for associates, including payroll review, submission, manual checks, timecard reporting, bonus lookbacks, issue resolution, and recurring pay compliance tasks.

- Anticipate compliance deadlines and manage payroll tax, wage and hour, and recurring regulatory reporting activities, including payroll tax returns, W-2s, 1095 data, ACA support, tip reporting, and related reconciliations.

- Maintain payroll setup, tax IDs, earning and deduction codes, PTO configuration, wage rate program processes, Wisely administration, and payroll system data so payroll runs smoothly and issues are addressed before they impact associates.

- Own reconciliations for payroll earnings, tip earnings, W-2 data, benefit deductions, workers compensation earnings, and other payroll records to ensure transparency, audit readiness, and dependable reporting.

- Partner with Total Rewards and Finance on workers compensation, 401(k), ACA, leave of absence, verification of employment, vendor invoice, payment tracking, and payroll-side benefits administration processes to support associates and prevent downstream payroll issues.

- Provide timely recurring and ad hoc reporting for People Resources, Finance, Operations, auditors, vendors, regulatory agencies, and property leaders so stakeholders have the information they need to make informed decisions.

- Support payroll onboarding for new hotels, offboarding for exiting hotels, associate transfers, system changes, data integrity, documentation, and process improvements that make payroll operations stronger over time.

- Use ADP, Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint, Profit Sage, and related tools to keep payroll workflows organized, documentation current, stakeholders informed, and commitments visible through completion.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent payroll leadership experience may be considered.

- 7+ years of progressive payroll experience, including multi-state, multi-site, high-volume payroll responsibility; hospitality or hourly workforce experience strongly preferred.

- Strong knowledge of ADP Workforce Now is required.

- Strong knowledge of payroll tax, wage and hour compliance, payroll-related benefits administration, ACA support, 401(k) payroll administration, workers compensation, W-2s, 1095s, reconciliations, and audit support.

- Experience working with ADP, Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint, payroll/timekeeping systems, reporting tools, vendors, auditors, and cross-functional stakeholders.

- Strong analytical, reconciliation, communication, documentation, confidentiality, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage recurring deadlines and competing priorities.

PERKS & BENEFITS:

We offer competitive compensation, medical/dental/vision coverage, ancillary benefits, 401(k) with company contribution, paid time off, paid sick leave, hotel discounts, Daily Pay access, associate referral rewards, and opportunities for growth and development.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
