Your Role

Brand is how Sans builds trust, differentiation, and long-term demand. It defines how we speak, what we stand for, and how customers experience us across every touchpoint.

The Copywriter will help shape the voice, narrative, and messaging systems for Sans. This role is responsible for translating brand strategy into clear, compelling, and consistent storytelling across organic channels, post-purchase experiences, and physical touchpoints.

This role reports to the Creative Director and partners closely with Brand, Creative, Product, Lifecycle, and eCommerce.

The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller with great taste and strong consumer instincts - someone who understands how to balance premium brand storytelling with clear, effective communication.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Help shape Brand Voice and Messaging Systems - Support the development and evolution of Sans’ tone of voice, messaging frameworks, and storytelling across touchpoints.
  • Develop Copy Across Key Surfaces - Write copy across major brand and marketing channels, including:
    • Emails/SMS
    • Web
    • Organic social
    • Packaging, manuals, inserts, and physical touchpoints
    • Direct Mail 
    • TV
  • Support Product and GTM Narrative Development - Partner with Product and Brand to translate features into benefit-led, human storytelling that ladders into the broader brand narrative.
  • Develop Content that Builds Authority and Demand - Create content that strengthens brand authority, supports organic discovery, and positions Sans as a trusted voice in healthier living.
  • Collaborate Across Creative and Cross-Functional Teams - Partner with Creative to ensure visual + verbal cohesion and provide copy direction and feedback to maintain a high brand standard.

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience:
    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in writing, communications, marketing, journalism, or related fields
    • 4-7+ years of experience in brand copywriting or storytelling roles
    • Experience developing tone of voice, messaging frameworks, or brand narratives
    • Strong experience writing across digital, lifecycle, editorial, and brand-driven surfaces
    • Experience working closely with creative teams across formats (email, web, packaging, content)
    • DTC, consumer, or startup experience preferred
    • Strong understanding of consumer psychology and conversion-focused storytelling
    • Experience balancing premium brand storytelling with clear, effective communication that drives action
    • Comfortable collaborating within testing and experimentation environments
  • Interpersonal:
    • Exceptional storytelling instincts with a strong command of tone and voice
    • Strong taste and judgment with an appreciation for premium brands and emotionally resonant storytelling
    • Collaborative and cross-functional - works effectively with Creative, Product, Growth, and eCommerce teams
    • Detail-oriented with a high bar for craft and consistency
    • Curious and evolving - constantly refining storytelling approaches, formats, and creative systems

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.


Benefits

Hours and Compensation

The anticipated base compensation range for this role will be $100,000 - $120,000 annually, plus discretionary bonus and equity. Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and local market rates.

  • Position will be based out of Culver City, Los Angeles (Tu. - Th. in office/Mo. & Fr. remote)
