About the Role:

IMAX is seeking a Coordinator, Social Media to join the Marketing organization and support the continued growth of IMAX’s digital presence. As part of the Social and Digital Marketing team, this role will help execute IMAX’s social strategy, manage day-to-day publishing and community engagement, monitor audience sentiment, and support social campaigns across key platforms.


This role is focused on social media strategy and execution. The ideal candidate understands how brands show up authentically on social media and can balance a fan-first, social-first voice with approved campaign messaging. They are highly organized, culturally aware, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities and conversations can move quickly.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, schedule, and publish social content across multiple platforms in alignment with the social content calendar and broader marketing priorities.
  • Write engaging social copy that communicates approved campaign messaging while maintaining IMAX’s fan-first, social-first tone of voice.
  • Monitor IMAX social channels, online conversations, and fan sentiment, identifying relevant trends, opportunities, and potential issues.
  • Compile weekly and ad hoc social listening and sentiment reports to share insights with the broader team.
  • Pull and organize social performance data for monthly reporting and help identify insights that can inform IMAX’s social strategy.
  • Assist with project management for key social campaigns, coordinating asset delivery, timelines, approvals, and deadlines across Social, Creative, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Contribute ideas during brainstorms and identify creative opportunities to engage IMAX’s social community.
  • Stay current on entertainment, pop culture, movie culture, fan communities, social media trends, platform developments, and emerging digital behaviors.
  • Partner collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders, proactively communicating project needs, updates, and dependencies.
  • Support day-to-day social and digital marketing operations, including invoicing, channel management, fan gifting, and other administrative needs.
  • Identify challenges and opportunities proactively and help develop solutions rather than waiting for direction.
  • Support the broader Social team as priorities evolve, including projects and initiatives outside of core day-to-day responsibilities when needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in social media, digital marketing, communications, or a related role, either in-house or agency-side.
  • Hands-on experience with community management, including publishing social content and engaging audiences across multiple social media platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of major social platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, and X.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for different platforms and audiences.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong judgment and problem-solving skills, particularly when working in fast-moving digital and social environments.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to consistently deliver work that reflects IMAX brand standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across different teams and working styles while communicating proactively and adapting quickly.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, and social media management tools.
  • Ability to balance creative thinking with a data-oriented approach to social media strategy and execution.

Preferred

  • Experience with social media management and listening platforms such as Sprinklr.
  • Experience supporting social campaigns within entertainment, media, consumer brands, or similarly fast-paced industries.
  • ·Experience analyzing social performance data, audience sentiment, and platform trends to identify actionable insights.
  • Strong understanding of entertainment, pop culture, movie culture, fan communities, and social-first behaviors.
  • Demonstrated ability to bring creative ideas to social strategy while working within established brand and campaign guidelines.
  • Passion for digital culture and a willingness to experiment, learn quickly, and explore new approaches to engaging audiences.

Hiring Range :

$25.95 - $31.71 (per hour) Placement within this range depends on a candidate’s experience, skills, internal equity, and regional market factors. Eligible roles may also receive additional non-discretionary compensation such as shift premiums or overtime pay.
