About Vantage Data Centers

Vantage Data Centers powers, cools, protects and connects the technology of the world’s well-known hyperscalers, cloud providers and large enterprises. Developing and operating across North America, EMEA and Asia Pacific, Vantage has evolved data center design in innovative ways to deliver dramatic gains in reliability, efficiency and sustainability in flexible environments that can scale as quickly as the market demands.

Energy Department

The Energy Group is responsible for supporting Vantage’s data center portfolio through the execution and management of complex commercial energy agreements, including utility service agreements, power purchase agreements, interconnection agreements, gas supply and infrastructure contracts, and other energy-adjacent arrangements. The team partners closely with project management, development, legal, finance, and external counterparties to ensure contracts are executed efficiently, accurately documented, and aligned with business objectives.

Position Overview

This role can be based in any of our US locations: Remote

The Contracts Manager – Energy Group plays a critical coordination and execution role in the lifecycle management of all energy-related commercial contracts. This role serves as the central point of organization, visibility, and process management for energy contracts across the portfolio and manages a high volume of concurrent agreements across multiple projects, counterparties, and markets.

This position is not a negotiating role. Instead, the Contracts Manager acts as the operational driver of the contracts process—ensuring agreements move efficiently from draft through review, approval, execution, and post-signature documentation. The role operates as an execution partner to the Energy team, Project Managers, and Commercial Energy stakeholders, similar to an executive assistant for the contract lifecycle, focused on momentum, accuracy, and accountability.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, process-driven, comfortable working cross-functionally, and skilled at managing multiple contracts simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Job Functions

Contract Tracking & Process Management

  • Maintain ownership of the full lifecycle tracking for all energy commercial contracts, from initial draft through execution and post-signature storage.

  • Manage and administer contracts within Ironclad, including initiating workflows, tracking approvals, and ensuring contracts move efficiently through the system.

  • Actively follow up with internal and external stakeholders to obtain comments, approvals, and responses in a timely manner.

  • Coordinate and schedule meetings to evaluate contracts, review comments, and align stakeholders on path-forward decisions.

  • Monitor execution timelines and proactively communicate risks, delays, or bottlenecks.

Contract Scope & Coverage

Support the coordination and execution of a broad range of energy-related agreements, including but not limited to:

  • Gas supply agreements and gas infrastructure contracts

  • Utility service and interconnection agreements

  • Wholesale and retail power agreements

  • Power generation–related agreements, including Power Purchase Agreements (PPA’s), tolling agreements, and HERCO arrangements

  • Other commercial energy and infrastructure contracts supporting Vantage’s portfolio

Contract Summarization & Risk Awareness

  • Review energy commercial agreements and prepare clear, concise contract summaries for internal stakeholders.

  • Create, maintain, and continuously improve standardized summary templates that outline key commercial terms, responsibilities, timelines, and potential exposures.

  • Highlight key obligations, deadlines, risks, dependencies, and approval requirements within each agreement.

  • Ensure summaries are accurate, consistently formatted, and easily understood by non-legal stakeholders.

  • Support awareness of key post-execution milestones and obligations by ensuring summaries and contract metadata are complete and accessible.

Cross-Functional & Stakeholder Support

  • Partner closely with Project Managers on contracts tied to active developments and projects, ensuring agreements progress through Ironclad, approvals, and execution without unnecessary delay.

  • Work directly with Energy, Commercial, Development, and Infrastructure stakeholders on non-project-specific agreements, including gas, wholesale, retail, and generation-related contracts.

  • Enable Project Managers and Energy stakeholders to advance schedules and commercial objectives by removing administrative and procedural friction from the contract process.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders on contract status, timing, approval steps, and execution readiness.

  • Coordinate with Legal, Finance, Energy, and other internal teams to ensure alignment throughout the contract lifecycle.

  • Provide regular, proactive status updates and clear documentation to all stakeholders.

Document Management & Systems

  • Ensure all executed agreements and supporting documentation are properly named, uploaded, and stored within designated OneDrive and internal repositories.

  • Maintain organized, audit-ready contract files with consistent structure and version control.

  • Track and maintain key contract metadata, including execution dates, effective dates, expirations, notice requirements, and required follow-up actions.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Provide routine reporting on contract volumes, status, execution timelines, and process bottlenecks.

  • Support the development and refinement of internal contract workflows, templates, and best practices.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve transparency, and reduce cycle time across the energy contract process.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the Energy Group.

  • Additional duties as assigned by management

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Legal Studies, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 3–7 years of experience in contracts administration, contract management, project coordination, or a similar role.

  • Experience managing contracts through a contract lifecycle management system (Ironclad experience strongly preferred).

  • Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of contracts with competing deadlines.

  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional follow-through and attention to detail.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Comfort working cross-functionally with legal, finance, project management, commercial energy, and operational teams.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and OneDrive.

  • Travel required is expected to be up to 5% but may increase over time as the business evolves.

Physical Demands and Special Requirements

  • Primarily desk-based, remote office role.

  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.

  • Occasional meetings outside normal business hours may be required due to cross-functional or counterparty scheduling.

Additional Details

  • Salary Range: $110,000 to $125,000 Base + Bonus (this range is based on Colorado market data and may vary in other locations)

  • This position is eligible for company benefits including but not limited to medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and AD&D, short and long-term disability coverage, paid time off, employee assistance, participation in a 401k program that includes company match, and many other additional voluntary benefits.

  • Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including your qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
