Credence has an immediate opening for a Contracts Closeout Specialist to support U.S. Space Force (USSF) acquisition programs. This role ensures the timely, accurate, and compliant closeout of government contracts supporting mission‑critical national security space capabilities. The ideal candidate brings hands‑on experience with DoD contracting closeout activities, FAR/DFARS compliance, and enterprise contract writing systems, including ConWrite and its modernization transition to CON‑IT.

Responsibilities

• Perform administrative, financial, and physical closeout of contracts, task orders, and delivery orders across multiple contract types.
• Review contract files to ensure all deliverables, CLINs, modifications, options, warranties, and acceptance documentation are complete.
• Coordinate closeout actions with Contracting Officers, program offices, finance, DFAS, DCAA, and DCMA.
• Identify and resolve unliquidated obligations (ULOs) and excess funds in support of deobligation and final payment.
• Support final vouchers, indirect cost settlements, and final invoice processing in accordance with FAR 4.804.
• Prepare, review, and maintain complete closeout documentation in ConWrite and support the migration and conversion of contract data from ConWrite to CON‑IT.
• Assist contracting teams during the ConWrite to CON‑IT transition, including data validation, document reconciliation, and system compliance.
• Maintain accurate contract records in government systems such as PIEE/WAWF, SPS/PD2, FPDS, and CON‑IT.
• Track closeout metrics, identify risks, and provide status updates to stakeholders and leadership.
• Support audit readiness efforts and process improvement initiatives.

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Acquisition, Contract Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of federal contracting experience, including direct experience with contract closeout.
• Strong knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and DoD acquisition processes.
• Hands‑on experience using ConWrite for contract administration.
• Familiarity with or experience supporting the transition from ConWrite to CON‑IT.
• Proficiency with DoD contracting systems, such as PIEE/WAWF, SPS/PD2, FPDS, and related tools.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple contracts and priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• DAWIA Level II or III (or FAC‑C equivalent)
• Experience supporting Space Force, SSC, SpOC, or space acquisition programs
• Experience with R&D, IDIQ, CPFF, CPAF, and FFP contracts
• Familiarity working with DCAA and DCMA
• Experience in classified or controlled acquisition environments
• Prior involvement in enterprise contract writing system implementations or migrations
