About the role

As the (Contract) Content Acquisitions Associate, you will support the Content Acquisitions team to manage a variety of tasks, including contract extension negotiations, securing approval for new business ventures, and handling client service needs. This is a 1-year contract position. 

Core Areas of Responsibility
  • Manage the full lifecycle of content license extensions and renewals, including drafting initial terms, coordinating internal review, and tracking execution.
  • Prepare and submit detailed approval packages for all new content business opportunities, ensuring agreement on budget and strategic goals.
  • Be the primary contact for routine client service management, addressing content partner inquiries regarding contractual status, delivery, and payment.
  • Maintain and update internal content databases and trackers with accurate information about contract dates, rights, and financial terms.
  • Support the Director and other team members with ad hoc projects, market research, and presentation preparation to inform content strategy decisions.

In the role of (Contract) Content Acquisitions Associate, you will report to the Director, Content Acquisitions.

About You

  • 3+ years of professional experience in content licensing, business affairs, or a related field within the media, entertainment, or technology industry.
  • Experience negotiating with partners to represent organizational interests.
  • Experience managing contract documentation and coordinating complex approval workflows involving multiple partners (e.g., Legal, Finance).
  • Advanced experience in data management, tracking, and basic financial modeling using Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or Airtable.
  • Experience working with international business clients.

The Content Acquisitions team is an experienced and established unit dedicated to building and maintaining the world's largest library of anime and related content. We are the driving force behind Crunchyroll's content offering, responsible for identifying, negotiating, and securing licensing agreements with partners worldwide. We measure success by the quality and range of the content we secure, which directly improves subscriber engagement and our global market leadership.
