Senior Curriculum Development Manager
BlackLine, a rapidly growing financial SaaS company, is looking for a Senior Curriculum Development Manager to own Customer and Partner Training curriculum and programs for BlackLine. This role will be responsible for building world-class training for common BlackLine roles including Administrators, responsible for configuring the BlackLine solution and End Users, who complete accounting-related tasks in BlackLine. Training and enablement offerings need to support the customer and partner lifecycle, from onboarding to ongoing, continuous learning.
Responsiblities:
- Develop a deep understanding of BlackLine customer and partner training needs to create training offerings and solutions that scale globally
- Research, stay on top of best-in-class, innovative solutions for scaling and delivering customer and partner training
- Define, maintain, and execute on curriculum development roadmap
- Partner with Product Management and Product Marketing on timely release of training aligned to BlackLine's product release cycle
- Manage and develop a team of Education Consultants whose primary role is to develop and deliver training content for partner and customer audiences. Implement an enablement plan for the team to increase their proficiency with BlackLine solutions
- Manage curriculum development release meetings to ensure all curriculum development project timelines are met and includes promotional activity to build stakeholder awareness for newly-released and updated courses.
- Reach out to internal and external customers on a regular basis to solicit input for course development and improvement, follow up on action items and/or issues related to delivery or content.
- Develop new and improve existing curriculum and Learning Paths (independent study, live instructor-led: virtual and onsite) for BlackLine roles
- Work with Customer Experience team to develop starter content for any custom training projects or training offerings for a Premium Training Subscription program
- Collaborate with BlackLine stakeholders (Customer Success, Implementations, Support, Solution Consulting) to define and create training curriculum and programs that align to and support existing and new Services offerings
- Define and implement plan for translating and updating training content into priority languages
- Ensure curriculum and delivery teams develop to and abide by CPE standards with global equivalent programs
- Participate, establish BlackLine U training presence at customer events including BUGs, round tables, ITB user conferences, etc.
- Define strategy to support the creation and maintenance of rich, up-to-date, and well-organized training content for the Customer Community knowledge base
- Identify and implement best practices and process improvements to streamline and accelerate curriculum development projects
- Increase awareness internally and externally of new, updated and available BlackLine U training resources using available and new internal and external communication channels
- Manage tools, templates and standards for different learning modalities: eLearning, job aids, and instructor-led classes
- Work with BlackLine Tech Ops to define and manage a robust support model for training and enablement activities including BlackLine U access (learning portal), BlackLine training instance creation and management
- Maintain Course Scorecards to include metrics on customer satisfaction, students trained, etc. Implement improvement plans where our training offerings and content are deficient.
- Manage Customer Education & Enablement KPIs dashboards for regular and ad-hoc reporting
Qualifications:
- 3 – 5 years managing and developing high-performing teams
- 7-10 years' curriculum project management experience working in a product training organization supporting customer, partner and internal audiences.
- Familiarity with and use of common financial systems such as Hyperion, etc.
- Strong customer focus; able to translate and connect customer's business needs to training offerings that are effective
- Strong experience in instructional design and evaluation, and training delivery virtual and onsite
- Strong knowledge of MS Office and eLearning tools like Captivate, Camtasia, Articulate, Storyline, etc.
- Analysis of complex training challenges to present effective educational solutions.
- Ability to prioritize and balance multiple, on-going projects and adhere to project schedules
- Understanding of SaaS implementation methodology and training touch points
- Ability to work collaboratively, establish excellent relationships with partners and extended training team especially Customer Success, Support, Implementation, Product Management, Product Marketing, etc
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate ideas and information effectively, clearly and concisely.
- Commitment to high-quality in training materials adhering to CD standards, best practices and processes.
