The Purpose:

Harness and lead a combination of people, process, and technology to execute Slickdeals coupons and deals content strategy by producing, curating, maintaining, and analyzing that content.

The Role:

We’re looking for an experienced, collaborative, and enthusiastic Director, Merchandising Operations to help drive operational excellence across the coupons and deals content published and curated on the Slickdeals platform. This is a cross-functional role that requires both a process-driven, operational mindset, keen attention to detail, as well as analytical/technical skill and aptitude. The ideal candidate is self-driven and has a combination of experience and attitude that helps them thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment built around a strong culture.

A successful candidate excels across the following areas:

• Alignment with Business Priorities – Understand the unique and valuable nature of Slickdeals crowdsourced platform and ensure that the creation and curation of deals and coupons content aligns with both the needs of the business and our users.
• Cross-functional Collaboration – Actively work with Business Development & Sales, Community, Content Marketing, Data Intelligence, Product and Technology teams and synthesize those inputs to shape and communicate team priorities.
• Supply & Demand: Ensure we have sufficient coupons and deals content to meet the needs of our business and users and demonstrate the ability to identify gaps so we can deliver the right content to the right person at the right time.
• Content Analysis & Insights – Develop a data-driven content operation that not only evaluates the performance of content and the teams creating/curating that content but also creates a plan for improvement and scale. Set overall goals, OKR, and KPI for a performance-based content management team.
• Optimization-minded – Continually look for efficiency gains, share best practice, and recommend process improvements.
• This position oversees and manages the in-house and external coupon and deal editor teams totaling about 50 people and reports to the Chief Operating Officer. The role is located in Los Angeles, CA.

Required Experience:

• 10+ years of experience in related roles
• Proven managerial ability
• Proven knowledge of performance evaluation metrics in a business setting
• Experience building effective plans and processes that support business goals
• This position requires a proactive leader with an entrepreneurial mindset and passion for content and process building
• Demonstrated experience building relationships with internal and external partners
• Strong ability with Excel and other reporting tools
• Excellent communication and writing skills
• Ability to see (and stay tuned into) the big picture
• Experience with ecommerce or transactional businesses is advantageous
