THE PURPOSE:

 

As the Director of Content Strategy, you will be responsible for leading our digital content strategy and managing editorial calendars to drive engagement growth across all devices. You will create, maintain and constantly improve the content offerings and the customer experience to make first-time visitors to Slickdeals content repeat shoppers. You will lead by example and work with a high-performance team to create a first class user experience around our editorial content.

  • Drive strategy for our web and app experiences catering to consumers searching for products, coupons, deals and savings advice – but doing so through an editorial lens.
  • Establish strategic priorities, our product roadmap and develop a consistently great consumer experience while driving adoption and engagement.

Action Oriented/Ownership

  • Own the content strategy from end-to-end; ideation and opportunity analysis to identify trends and anticipate consumer needs. Gather internal stakeholder engagement, define business requirements, design the user experience and coordinate launch plans with cross-functional teams.
  • Work closely with the SEO team to achieve and maintain class-leading technical SEO benchmarks.
  • Manage and develop the CMS, APIs and landing page experiences necessary for achieving broad distribution across syndication channels to help drive audience.

Data Driven & Bias for Action

  • Take ownership for all critical metrics related to the annual plan, weekly flash and forecast.

Results Oriented

  • Deliver winning user and publishing experiences across all devices while leveraging our unique crowdsourced deals and editorial content.

Teamwork/Collaboration/Partnerships

  • Partner with the SVP, Content Marketing as well as cross-functional teams to set, socialize and execute quarterly goals.
  • Work closely with the Content team to identify commercially viable opportunities and create relevant, high-quality content for the target consumer.
  • Partner with designers, product managers, performance marketers, business development to plan and create the content for audience and revenue growth
  • Work across the teams necessary to optimize content via multi-channel distribution, including SEO, syndication partnerships, email, social, video, and more.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


THE CANDIDATE:

  • Sound knowledge of content management systems, keyword research tools, social media platforms, search engine optimization (SEO), and search engine marketing (SEM).
  • Demonstrated success leading growth initiatives with high performing teams by celebrating wins and overcoming challenges.
  • Extensive content strategy experience with dynamic, high scale tech companies
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to charismatically lead cross-functional teams including engineers, designers, shoppers, retail partners and executives.
  • Experience with defining strategy, creating content roadmaps and communicating decisions to stakeholders at all levels
  • Highly developed analytical and solutions oriented
  • The ability to gather, review and apply data insights to decision making process
  • Deep understanding of web and app technologies
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • A product background developing content strategy
  • Knowledge of best third-party performance tracking tools for measuring monetization for article and video content.
