Manager of Content Acquisitions will be responsible for securing a pipeline of content to satisfy Crunchyroll’s seasonal simulcast slate and catalog lineups, while strengthening its relationships with our Japanese partners’ teams and augmenting our reputation as the most trusted international distributor for Japanese anime abroad. Knowledge of the Japanese anime industry, strong communication skills, ability to challenge status quo within the industry, work ethic, and a strong attention to detail are essential to thrive in this position.
About You:
- 5+ years of Agency or Entertainment based account management experience. Specific disciplines could include Accounting, Royalty Statements, Production, Marketing, Anime Industry knowledge, strong communication skills.
- Passion for Anime, Japanese culture, Entertainment industry.
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to build relationships and influence teams.
- Ability to work independently
- International experience
- Bilingual (English and Japanese) preferred, but not required
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Service oriented
- Knowledge of, and a passion for, entertainment, animation, and pop culture is a plus
- Possess critical thinking skills to dissect proposals and legal agreements surrounding IP
- Ability to discern problems and to change the business environment to anticipate and build creative solutions in a transitioning media landscape
A day in the life of our Manager, Content Acquisitions:
- Contacting Japanese partners to receive the latest information on their production schedule and discuss opportunities to grow and foster our distribution partnership.
- Foster strong relationships with Japanese partners and be responsible for managing account relationships, including day-to-day business.
- Work with other departments to deliver “Best in Class” partnership and to ensure that contractual obligations are performed.
- Acquire in depth knowledge of our business in each internal department to address key issues, competitive situations, industry trends and market dynamics.
- Maintain an open dialogue with licensors and assist with implementation of solutions and reporting of our activities.
- Collaborate with the evaluation team to accurately assess the value of content
- Timely respond to licensor requests and bid submissions
- Work closely with Business Affairs to efficiently close contracts and secure timely delivery of assets
- Cooperate with Marketing to procure marketing materials needed to support successful title launches

The Pay Range for this position is listed. Actual pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Crunchyroll’s Total Rewards offerings for employees.
