Description

Los Angeles - hybrid. On site for shoots, working from home when you are not. Reports to the marketing lead; works directly with the founder most weeks.

We are hiring a Content Producer to shoot, organize, finish and publish video and stills for a group of related brands. Half of the week is on your feet with cameras; the other half is at a desk getting finished work out on schedule and keeping the records straight. You will be in the room with the founder for his recordings and around him for candid material, so discretion is part of the job.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Production

- Set up and strike simple two-camera interview and conversation shoots: cameras, light, sound, the same look every time, from a shot list.

- Shoot b-roll and candid stills around the founder, the team and the places we work; candid means candid, never staged.

- Ingest, name and back up footage the day it is shot, in the folder structure you are given, so nothing is lost or hunted for.

- Operate our video generation and editing tools: run jobs from shot lists, review the output against a written quality standard, and reject and rerun what fails.

- Edit short pieces: cutdowns, social cuts, screen recordings with voice-over; hand longer or harder edits to the editor with clean, organized project files.

- Keep the kit ready: batteries, cards, backups, the gear list.

Publishing

- Publish finished pieces across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook on a set schedule, in English and Spanish as separate posts, with the right titles, captions and links.

- Keep the posting record: what ran, where, when, and how it performed at set intervals.

- Answer comments and messages on the brands' accounts in the commenter's language, following the written rules for tone and for when to stop and hand a thread to a person.

- Keep business profiles and listings accurate and current: photos, replies to reviews, questions, hours, one consistent name, address and phone per location.

- Distribute a weekly newsletter exactly as written: to the list, to the website, and mirrored to the social accounts, within an hour of receiving it.

- Assemble a weekly schedule of what is ready to post and a weekly numbers sheet for the marketing lead.

Requirements

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

- Two or more years shooting and cutting video for a brand, a creator or a production company, with work you can show: interviews, b-roll, short social cuts.

- You can set up a clean two-camera interview alone in thirty minutes and match the last one.

- You are exact with files and records: named, backed up, findable; a row filled in the day it posts.

- Working fluency in current editing software and in AI image and video generation tools, and the judgment to grade their output against a standard.

- You write a clean caption in English. Spanish is a strong plus; bilingual is better.

- You read a comment thread the way a person does and know when a joke is a joke and when someone needs a human.

- You can move someone else's words through five places without changing a word, and you understand why that matters.

- Comfortable half the week on your feet and half at a desk, in Los Angeles, with the founder's schedule setting some of yours.

- Discreet. You will see work before it is public and people on hard days.

- Work hard, do right.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
