Description

Nautilus Solar Energy’s (“NSE”) Compliance Manager will be responsible for ensuring that NSE’s projects comply with Federal and State requirements necessary to satisfy regulatory obligations to obtain project incentives.  The Compliance Manager will be NSE’s primary point of contact regarding this compliance with internal teams and third-party consultants and financing parties. This is not an IT position.

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage third-party consultant for compliance with Inflation Reduction Act Prevailing Wage Act (“PWA”), Illinois Minimum Equity Standards (“MES”) and other state-specific regulations, including (i) facilitating compilation of project onboarding documentation to compliance platform, and (ii) ensure and track corrective action to retain compliance. 
  • Prepare, review and update SOPs for compliance processes. 
  • Prepare and submit annual Illinois MES compliance reports, including managing compliance through reporting period. 
  • Prepare and submit waiver requests for Illinois MES compliance reports as needed. 
  • Prepare and submit other compliance reports as required. 
  • Prepare and communicate updates and escalate issues to senior management. 
  • Support project financing diligence efforts re: compliance. 
  • Monitor compliance of obligations under EPC agreements. 

Requirements
  • Solid understanding and passion for the solar industry – familiarity with or proven track record in community solar and Illinois Shines program a strong plus 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrable ability to understand and communicate compliance or auditing concepts. 
  • Excellent organizational abilities. 
  • Proven ability to manage compliance programs and lead audits / compliance reporting. 
  • Able to excel in a highly entrepreneurial environment. 
  • Undergraduate degree. 
  • 3+ years of work experience preferred in the solar industry. 
  • Comfort working in a remote environment. 
  • Travel approximately 10%. 
  • Legally entitled to work in the US.
