  • Maintain and evolve job architecture frameworks to support internal equity, career pathing, and market competitiveness.
  • Drive compensation planning cycles (merit, promotion, bonus) in collaboration with HRBPs and Finance.
  • Partner closely with leadership, HRBPs, and stakeholders to resolve complex compensation issues, calibration sessions, analyze comp data, and drive forward implementation of org-wide comp initiatives
  • Manage U.S. compensation programs and drive international comp programs, ensuring market competitiveness, compliance, and fiscal responsibility.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and international regulatory requirements (including ACA, HIPAA, ERISA, FSLA, and SOX).
  • Serve as the compliance lead within People Operations, overseeing audits, documentation, and ongoing monitoring.
  • Partner with Legal, Finance, and Payroll to proactively address legislative changes and maintain policy alignment.
  • Act as the go-to advisor for compensation across all locations—including Retail, Fulfillment Centers, and HQ (U.S. and Europe).
  • Provide support for Compensation Committee materials and executive-level reporting.
  • Promote a Total Rewards mindset through enablement tools, trainings, and thoughtful communication strategies.
  • Build strong rapport and relationships with People team, payroll, legal, FP&A and external service providers.

What you can bring:

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in compensation, 2+ years in a leadership or strategic role (is a plus)
  • Deep functional expertise across both U.S. and international rewards practices, particularly in retail and/or ecommerce environments
  • Strong knowledge of relevant compliance areas, including U.S. federal and state regulations (FLSA, min wage requirements, SOX, etc.)
  • Analytical mindset with advanced Excel skills and the ability to turn data into insights and experience executing compensation and benefits tasks within HRIS (preferably Workday)
  • Proactive problem-solver, offering solutions and process improvements
  • Proven success designing and implementing scalable, employee-centric programs in high-growth and dynamic organizations
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills; able to influence across all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
  • Experience supporting diverse workforces across Corporate, Retail, and Fulfillment Center functions

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
