POSITION SUMMARY

The Communications Specialist will support the Broker Relations and Communications departments in their programs to optimize internal and external communications. Supporting the FAIR Plan’s communication strategies, the Communications Specialist will assist in the production and execution of internal and external communications materials as needed.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Serve as contact and strategic partner for internal and external communications initiatives. 
•    Collaborate with liaisons from other departments to identify and create communications materials. 
•    Draft, design, and execute communications materials including, but not limited to, newsletters, email marketing, handbooks and user guides, videos, one-pagers, website copy, SMS communications, and presentation decks. 
•    Support communication initiatives, including providing research-backed recommendations and collaborating with senior staff.
•    Identify areas for optimization in internal and external communications, including process streamlining, delivery methods, recurring initiatives, and related technology, and assist in the identification of meaningful solutions.
•    Perform administrative duties to support the functions of the Communications department.
•    Perform other duties as needed to help fulfill the FAIR Plan’s mission and to support department initiatives
•    Abide by the FAIR Plan’s organizational values and work to fulfill the FAIR Plan’s strategic objectives.
•    Adhere to Federal and State laws and regulations.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

•    Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Professional or Business Writing, Marketing, English, or a similar subject. 
•    1+ years’ experience with creating and designing written and visual communications material.
•    Demonstrated writing success and experience, with a proven ability to parse key information and write for diverse audiences.
•    Demonstrated design acumen and experience, with an actionable understanding of how visual layouts support the effective dissemination of information.
•    Robust interpersonal skills, with a focus on client service. 
•    Demonstrated planning and organizational skills and experience managing multiple tasks and priorities in a fast paced and demanding work environment
•    Experience supporting complex communication strategy for large, cross functional projects, preferably in an insurance setting.
•    Knowledge of property insurance principles a plus.
